The lights were off, so I knew my mother was either sleeping, or she went out. I unlocked the door and pushed it open, pausing when I felt Gavin’s gaze still on me. I realized the car was still in the front of the house. I turned back slightly and gave the car an awkward wave before stepping into the house, shutting the door behind me.
