I hesitated in the locker room before gym class, unsure of what to do. After a long pause, I finally decided to take the necklace out of my pocket. I could've left it in the locker, but I chose to slip it into the pocket of my gym clothes instead. Declan always gave me this calm feeling. I took a deep breath, telling myself I'd be okay, and made my way to the indoor gym after most people had left. But just before I reached the gym, I could hear the sound of cheering coming from inside.
