Second Epilogue

1686 Words

Five Years Later Monique sat nervously at the edge of the longest rectangular table she had ever seen. She swallowed the bile rising on her throat while she tapped her fingers on the table, her eyes occasionally glancing at the transparent glass walls. She was spacing out in the middle of a board meeting. Monica wasn’t present anymore to run Jones Law Firm ever since she worked at Wolfram Industries, her mother was dead five years ago, and her father decided to get an early retirement. The only person who was credible to run the firm was Monique. Ever since she ran the law firm, she had never felt emptier in her life. After her mother’s funeral, Nathaniel and Monique cut off ties with each other and promised that, after five years, they would see each other and start from a clean slate.
