Chapter FourRaven pulled the phone out of her pocket, staring down at it for a long minute. Adam had told her to wait at least two weeks before using it. Despite everything that had happened, they weren't quite there yet.
The night was still around her. Maddie was out in the dark, hunting. Zero was in the loft of the barn, though Raven doubted the girl was sleeping. She didn't sleep much anymore.
With a sigh, Raven thumbed the button to dial the only pre-programmed number in the phone, not surprised when Adam didn't answer. She shoved the phone back in her pocket and turned to look around her.
The land around them was not the most hospitable for Shades, and she knew they were not safe there, despite Lonan's assurances that the tribe would shelter them for as long as they needed.
