"Yes, I’ll marry you. I love you."

SAMANTHA
"Sammy! Oh my gosh! You look so beautiful! You’re like a Disney princess!" Mich exclaimed, her voice full of excitement as she took picture after picture of me with her phone.
Instead of getting annoyed with her constant picture-taking, I just laughed. I don’t know what it is about this woman—she’s way more beautiful than I am, yet she’s completely obsessed with my appearance.
"Mich, you’re acting like a lunatic, you know that?" I chuckled, and she just laughed along. She really is crazy.
Anyway, I’m wearing a pink gown that goes all the way down to the floor, with dark pink petals scattered on it. And, true to Mich's word, it's absolutely adorable.
I almost forgot to mention that the play is about to start. That's why I'm feeling so nervous right now. After all, I’m playing the role of Spring, the lead character in the story. I hope I do it justice.
"Guys! The play is about to start!"
Mich and I both turned to see the girl calling out from the doorway, and our jaws dropped when we saw Diane. She looked so sexy in her black dress. It suited her cold, aloof personality perfectly—but little did anyone know, she wasn’t actually cold at all. In fact, she’s as playful as Mich.
I swear, people are just crazy these days. It's like they're bipolar or something.
"We’ll be out in a sec. I just need to run through my lines real quick," I smiled at Diane.
I have no hard feelings toward her anymore. I’m fine now. I know she’s not going to end up with Chester, or King for that matter. I’m still convinced King and I are meant to be together. And Diane even apologized for her role as the villain in my life. I hope she finds someone who will love her the way she deserves.
Diane smiled and nodded at me. Just as she was about to walk away, she suddenly remembered something.
"Oh, I almost forgot to tell you—Chester's waiting outside. He didn't want to disturb you since he knows you’re focused on your lines."
I froze, the script in my hands momentarily forgotten.
"Hey, you stopped reading!" Mich teased.
"I didn’t!" I denied quickly, but truthfully, I couldn’t focus on the script anymore.
"Stop pretending, Sammy," Mich said, grabbing the script out of my hands. "Go to him now! Quick!"
Diane watched us silently, amused by Mich’s antics. I couldn’t help but laugh and reluctantly stood up, walking out of the room. As soon as I stepped outside, I saw Chester holding a bouquet of flowers.
"King," I called softly.
His face lit up as soon as he heard me say his name.
"Samsam," he replied. "These are for you."
I won’t pretend anymore—I won’t act like I didn’t feel the butterflies in my stomach when I saw him. And by the way, he looked incredibly handsome in that suit.
"Thank you," I said, accepting the flowers.
He smiled, and together, we walked to the front row where we were going to sit before the play started. The moment we entered, our fellow cast members started teasing us, pointing out that we were walking together.
"These people are crazy," I chuckled, and Chester laughed along.
We sat down in the front row, and Diane, who was sitting next to me, gave me a thumbs up.
"You two really do look good together," she whispered.
I smiled quietly.
The auditorium was suddenly silent, and just as the host was about to begin, a loud commotion erupted from behind us.
"What the hell, Kristoff?! Stop following me, for God’s sake!"
"What the hell is coming out of your mouth?"
"Why the hell are you following me?!"
"What are you talking about? I’m not following you."
"Yes, you are! Stop lying!”
Turns out, it was just Mich and my older brother. Honestly, these two need to admit they like each other already. But, oops, sorry Rica—I’ll always root for my best friend over you. Sorry.
"Argh! I hate you!"
"I love you too."
The audience screamed when my brother said that to Mich. Even I couldn’t help but feel giddy. But wait, aren't they supposed to be the ones roleplaying here?
Mich stormed out of the room, and like the playful person he is, my brother followed her. What a couple of goofs.
"Samsam."
I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard King call my name. I turned to face him, but before I could react, his lips suddenly pressed against mine.
"I love you."
I felt my cheeks flush instantly.
I was about to say, "I love you too," when his phone rang. He didn’t answer it, though—his eyes stayed locked on mine.
"You should answer it," I teased, feeling a little flustered.
"You answer what I said first," he smirked, giving me a wink.
Oh my God, I couldn’t help but smile.
"I’ll answer later, but you have to answer that call first."
He pouted but grabbed his phone. When he saw who was calling, his expression turned pale.
"Who is it, King?" I asked, but he didn’t reply.
He stood up and started walking out of the auditorium, and I couldn’t help but furrow my brows. Was this person important?
As I looked down at the floor, I noticed a piece of white paper that had fallen from where King had been sitting.
"Sam, what’s going on?" Diane asked, tapping me on the shoulder. I quickly hid the paper and turned to face her.
"Huh? Oh, I don’t know," I said nervously. Why was I so anxious?
She raised an eyebrow, clearly confused by my uneasy response, but didn’t press me further.
"I’ll follow him outside," she said with a smile.
"Okay," I replied, watching her walk away.
Once she was gone, I let out a deep sigh and grabbed the piece of paper. I carefully unfolded it.
"Wait, what’s this?"
I read the note and nearly dropped it.

"Oh my gosh, we’re almost at the end!" Mich said, humming happily as she stared at the stage.
I completely forgot to mention that the play had started a while ago—and now, we were nearing the end. While Mich was excited, I was an absolute wreck. I couldn’t stop thinking about what I had read on that piece of paper earlier.
"I’m so nervous," I whispered, trembling.
"Don’t be, Sammy. All you have to do is what you’ve always wanted to do, okay?"
The curtains closed, signaling the last scene.
"You’ve got this, Sammy! Aja!" Mich cheered, and I couldn’t help but smile.
The curtains opened again, and I walked toward the stage. But I stopped when I saw King kneeling, a life-sized teddy bear beside him.
I rushed to him and hugged him tightly, whispering in his ear, "This isn’t right. The ending should have the girl walking and finding Slade kissing someone. You’re supposed to defend me. Why are you kneeling?"
"There’s nothing wrong with love, Samsam."
He stood up, pulling me with him.
"This wasn’t really how it was supposed to go," he laughed. "Slade and I were supposed to give you a choice, but just earlier, he said he’s letting you go to me. He loves you so much, Sam."
Even though I was confused, I couldn’t help but look at Slade, who was sitting in the front row. He gave me a thumbs up, but I could see the sadness in his eyes. That’s when I couldn’t hold back the tears.
"Samsam, you know how much I love you, right?" King said softly.
And just then, he dropped to one knee in front of me.
"Samsam, will you marry me?"
Tears of joy flooded my eyes as he proposed. I broke down in sobs, overwhelmed by everything he had just done for me.
"King..." I whispered through my tears as I knelt to match his level.
And then, I kissed him quickly on the lips.
"Yes. I’ll marry you. I love you, King."
