"Don't ever come near my sister again, Natividad. I'm warning you."

SAMANTHA
I looked at him while holding my cell phone. It was the first time he had called me by my real name.
"For you," he handed me a ring, and I immediately put it on. I smiled, even though the tears kept flowing.
"D-Don't lose it..."
"Please, don't say anything," I begged him.
I saw him smile sadly before he closed his eyes. Then, the ambulance suddenly arrived, and they placed King on the stretcher.
But just before they could load him into the ambulance, I heard his last words. "I love you so much, Samantha. I love you so much."
"Aaaaaaahhhhh!"
I screamed as I felt a sharp pain in my head, as though it was being pierced by countless needles. I closed my eyes, my hands clutching my head. I soon felt tears streaming down my face.
"Samantha? Samantha!" Chester called out to me in panic.
"T-tell me, please..." I weakly said before losing consciousness.

"King! King! Please, wake up!" I begged King as the nurses brought him into the operating room.
"Miss, you can't go in there," the nurse stopped me when I tried to enter the O.R.
"No! I need to go in! King needs me! He needs me!" I screamed, trying to push my way into the O.R., but the nurse held both my arms.
I couldn't do anything, being just a small child while the adults were stopping me.
"Please... let me in," I said as my knees started to weaken.
I felt the pain in my knees as I suddenly collapsed to the floor.
"Enough, Samantha. Stop this."
I felt someone hug me from behind, but I didn't even bother to look at them because I was still focused on the door where King had been taken.
"Slade... I don't want to lose him. I can't..." I cried.
I recognized his voice. I knew it well. It was King's brother. Slade. The one who was with King the first time we met.
"He won't be lost, Samantha. Trust him."
He tried to comfort me, but it seemed pointless because I didn’t know what to do anymore.
I sat down with Slade, and while I had my eyes closed, I silently prayed.
"Please, if it's just me, don't let King be taken from me," I thought in my mind.
Two hours passed before the doctor came out with two nurses.
"Doc, how is he?" I asked anxiously when the doctor came out.
"He's in good condition. We just need to wait for him to wake up," the doctor said before leaving.
I sighed in relief. God answered my prayer.
"Wait, Slade. I'll buy some fruits."
"Okay, take care."
He kissed my cheek and smiled. I smiled back before walking out of the hospital.
"This is the payment."
"Thank you."
He handed me a plastic bag filled with fruits, and I started to cross the street, but I didn’t expect a car to come and almost hit me. Everything went dark after that.
"Damn it," I muttered as I realized what I had dreamed.
How annoying! I thought I was going to die! I squinted my eyes since my vision was still blurry, but I was fine now.
"Wait, where am I?" I asked.
A white ceiling. Black and white paint. It looked classy but modern. Definitely not my room because my favorite color is blue.
I looked at a picture on the side table, and when I saw who was in the picture, my question was answered.
This was Chester's room.
Wait, what happened earlier? I remember I was with Chester in the park, then... then...
"Son of a frog! Did my brother already call a search and rescue team?" I shouted when I realized I hadn’t gone home yet.
I quickly sat up from the bed, surprised. I grabbed my head because it hurt a little.
"Aww," I groaned.
I quickly fixed the bed before running out the door. Oh my, where could Chester be?
I was about to go down the stairs when I stopped after seeing Slade talking to someone. And it seemed like they were discussing something serious.
Wait, why is Slade here? Where’s Chester?
I quickly climbed a few steps and hid.
"Samantha is starting to remember. We can’t stop it now," Slade said.
Stop it? It looks like they have plans to stop my memory from coming back? Wow. I knew my dreams had been strange lately, but are they the villains trying to prevent my memories from returning?
"It won’t be good for Colline to remember her past. So keep them apart," the man ordered Slade authoritatively.
"Can’t we just let them be together?" Slade asked. I saw him bow his head. Why?
"You love Colline, right?" the man asked. "Why don’t you do something to make her yours?"
Oh my gosh! I almost fell from where I was standing when I heard the man's question to Slade. What made him suddenly think that Slade loves me?
"Yes, I love her."
My jaw dropped when I heard his answer. Slade loves me?
"But if I know that she won’t be happy with me, why would I do something that would make her sad?" he added.
What?
"Tsk. If you don’t do what I ask, I’ll find a way to keep them apart," the man said.
I moved a bit forward to see who the man was.
And I almost screamed when I saw who he was. Thank goodness I quickly covered my mouth with both my hands.
"Let them be happy, Kristoff. I can see that they love each other, and Chester is my brother, so I can see that he's sincere," Slade said.
Wait, did I hear that right? I grabbed my head. Gosh, too much information. They’re making my head hurt so early. It looks like I fell asleep quickly when my head hurt last night.
"I let them be happy before, Slade. But when your damn brother hurt my brother, I made sure to separate them," my brother, Kristoff, said angrily.
So my brother was the one talking to Slade? He’s known all along? Oh, no. They’ve been fooling me for so long. Damn it.
"And Slade, you're the one I want for Colline. Only you," my brother said before walking up the stairs.
Oh my, they’ll see me here!
I quickly returned to the room I had entered earlier, flopped on the bed, and pretended to sleep. A while later, I felt someone tap my cheek.
"Colline, wake up. It's time to go home."
I pretended to stretch slowly and opened my eyes. Okay, the next thing I’ll do is act surprised.
"Brother, oh—son of a frog!"
My acting became too real. How could I not? Slade’s face was so close to mine! I thought he was my brother, because my brother calls me Colline, right? Oh, Slade, you’re so forward.
He laughed, so I hit him with a pillow. He’s really annoying. They’re siblings, after all. I stood up, fixed myself, and walked down the stairs.
"Brother, what are you doing here?" I asked, even though I already knew why he was here.
"We’re going home, Colline," my brother ordered authoritatively, so I followed him immediately. Just as I was about to get in the car, I saw Chester.
He quickly walked up to me when he saw me, but he stopped when he saw my brother giving him a fierce look.
"Are you going to mess with us again, Kristoff?" Chester asked when he got closer to us. But my brother didn’t answer.
"Don’t you ever come near my sister again, Natividad. I’m warning you," my brother said, his voice scary, before getting into the driver’s seat.
