*Zade's POV*
I sighed heavily.
“Breathe out, host,” the system said, its breath against my ear. I glared at it.
“Who told you I am not breathing?”
“Sure, but you haven't exhaled in 30 seconds.” I exhaled shakily.
“But you see, getting first... I don't know how to do it. Your sis has been gone for a while. She will soon be back, so rest.”
“I already told you I will give you a cheat code. Believe me.”
“Wait, stop it. Is this the life they have been living? This stupid man has been maltreating them?” I asked again, not believing a man could stoop so low and do this.
But I can't blame them. I have been living a pampered life for too long to know the wickedness of the heart.
“This is your life now, so change it or you will……” The system vanished.
The door creaked softly. “Sorry, I have been gone for a while. I wanted to reheat it.”
“Don't worry, it's not that long. And what will you guys eat if I eat this? I know I am sick, but you have to eat.”
I was still trying to reason with her when mom entered, looking drenched.
I tried to stand up, but I seemed to underestimate the severity of the injuries.
Thud……. I fell down, dark spots dancing in my vision. My feet felt like lead.
I winced as I held my bruised side.
Mom quickly raced to me as they both helped me up.
“Didn't I tell you to stay on the bed?” Her voice sounded worried.
“He is so stupid. Didn't mom warn you to rest?” she scolded as I was helped to the bed.
“I just wanted to help you with the towel. What if you catch a cold?”
“Don't worry about me. Have you eaten? I already bought the drugs. You just have to eat and sleep.”
“School starts next tomorrow, and you can't miss, or you will be expelled. You already missed for a while,” Mom said while trying to feed me.
“Mom, if I eat this, what will both of you have for dinner?” I asked, staring at her.
“Don't worry about us. We just finished eating food, so don't worry.” She replied, not meeting my eyes.
“Finished eating? You know three minutes earlier you were cleaning my blood and helping me up, so when was the time you ate?” I questioned her.
“If the both of you don't eat with me, then I won't eat either.” I replied, turning my face to the side, pouting my lips.
“Okay dear,” mom brushed my hair gently. “We will eat together.”
“Lila,” she called my sister, “come closer. Let’s eat with your brother.”
I smiled widely as we all ate together with love. This is truly beautiful. I will miss this when I go back.
“Go back.” My heart stung and I sighed.
“Don't you like the food?” mom asked.
“No, I was just thinking about something, mom.”
“Let’s clear this place so you can sleep,” mom said, standing up.
I nodded and waved at them. “Be careful. Don't let him touch you.”
“Sleep dear,” mom said, kissing my forehead.
“Sleep well,” my step-sister also muttered as they closed the door.
I closed my eyes and wandered into dreamland, not before thinking:
“School tomorrow and I have 365 days for my mission.”
Hmm, I sighed.

*Tobias POV*
“Brother, I am going to a party.” Mila said, pulling her short dress down.
“You know you can't go out dressing like this.” I said.
“Brother,” she whined, “what's wrong with this dress?” “Everyone dresses like this.” She stomped her foot.
“If you want to go out, then you can't dress like this.” Kade said, his voice dangerously low.
Her eyes widened when she heard his voice. She raced inside and banged the door.
“You know she is afraid of you, Kade,” I exclaimed. “If I had told her this, she would have whined and acted cute to get away with it.”
“Hmm,” Kade scoffed. “I didn't ask to be so dangerously handsome.” He replied as he continued typing on his laptop.
“I heard some of our guys are getting ahead of themselves,” I dragged my hands across my face.
“Let them play for a while,” Kade’s voice raised slightly. “I love catching them unguarded and torturing them while gouging out their ugly eyes.” His eyes twinkled.
“You know you look like a psychopath talking like that.” I sounded irritated.
“Speak for yourself, Tobias.”
“Is she still going to that party?” I asked, raising my eyes to her room.
“We have school tomorrow. Maybe we will see our soulmate and fall in love.” I started tapping my fingers.
Mila rushed down with a longer and more beautiful dress.
“What about this?” she twirled around, dancing on her toes.
I studied her. Like I always tell her, she's beautiful. She took more of our mother's tiny face and father's blonde hair.
Her five-foot stature and innocent face can be very deceiving. She has been raised to protect herself.
“Can I go now?” she asked with uncertainty in her voice as she stared at Kade.
Silence reigned for a while.
“Did you pick the knife?” Kade asked.
“Yes, and the ropes, and darts.” She replied quickly.
“So you are free to go. Don't let me call you before you come back,” Kade threatened.
“I will come back early. And it's a girlfriend party. I am not going to a club.” She mocked as she raced away.
My eyes glued to the door.
“You know she won't come back, and burning holes into the door won't do anything.” Kade said as he signaled two guards.
“Follow her and keep her safe.” The guards nodded and disappeared quietly, like they are trained to do.
“I need my beauty sleep,” I stretched, standing up and walking to my room.
“Tomorrow is going to be a long day.” Kade muttered and closed his laptop.

*Zade's POV*
“Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!” The system’s voice thundered in my ears.
I rolled to the other side, the bed creaking loudly.
“Arise and shine, princess! Arise and shine, princess, for there is school today.” The system continued.
“Why are you being annoying? I slept late because of this brick of a bed I am sleeping on, and you are telling me to wake up early.”
I groaned and draped the blanket over my head.
Everything was silent for a while. I was already enjoying my beautiful sleep when:
“Wakeeeeeeee up! Princess.” The system screamed in my ear.
I stood up and cursed, “What the f**k are you doing? Disturbing me.”
“And now you’re calling me a princess? I will murder Clay with my fork when I get back.” I replied, still fuming.
“Get up before it gets worse.” It threatened.
“Are you threatening me?” I squinted my eyes at it.
“No,” it grinned foolishly. “Get ready for school.” It whined like a b***h.
I went to the bathroom grudgingly and quickly finished my business. I went out and saw that it had already vanished, like it always does.
I put on my clothes and was whistling quietly when the said thing reappeared.
“I have a message for you.” Its voice without any hint of the earlier playfulness.
I scoffed. “What are we doing, a Mafia role?” I asked, smiling, but it didn't return the energy.
“You are meeting your soulmate today.”
