A Bakers Dozen dreams

The reveal

Daniel's POV...

Today was the day we were going to reveal that we were expecting a baby to the rest of the family. I was so excited I knew that My parents would be over the moon to have yet another grandchild. Nathan already loved Bella so much so it wouldn't be a problem having another one roaming about. Especially after he became a father himself. 

Scarlet only had the boys and couldn't have anymore children due to complications with their birth so she would happily love to become an auntie again. David and Amanda we expected would be over the moon to have another Grandchild as well. 

I woke up feeling ready and excited but I woke up really early in fact too early were weren't having anyone round until 3. I didn't want to get up as I was worried that too much shuffling would wake Bex up and she really needed the rest. My restless legs failed me I had cramp and ended up waking her up anyway, I always f*cked up. 

She needed rest and I was adding to her stress by not allowing her to sleep longer. She told me that she was waking up anyway. We both laid in each others arms in a comfortable silence until I broke it. I wanted to get her thoughts on baby names, she told me she had a few in mind but wanted my input first. 

I really liked the name Matthew she told me that it was her dad's name as well. That pretty much decided his name. We placed our hands on Bex's tummy and said "We can't wait to meet you Matthew". Becky nodded off again clearly tired, I didn't feel tired but didn't want to move at it was still 5 am.

 I took this time to have a little chat with Matthew I wanted him to take it easy on his mummy and not make her so sick. I stroked her tummy letting him know that his daddy was there. There suddenly was a quiet knock on the door I knew it was Bella I told her to come in, what made me laugh was that Max had followed her in.

 She climbed up and snuggled in between Bex and I. Max made his way to the bottom of the bed and nodded off. Bella wrapped herself up to her mummy and rubbed her tummy she was already becoming so protective of Matthew and it warmed my heart. We were so worried that she wouldn't accept her not being an only child anymore but we had nothing to worry about at all. 

At around 11 we all decided to finally get up. Charlie was making pancakes with Curtis his boyfriend, they looked so cute. Curtis had also become a part of our family we welcomed him with open arms. We sat down and ate together before Bex and I went shopping for tonight's meal. 

We decided to make lasagne as it was a family favourite of ours. Charlie and Curtis took Bella to the park with Max while we did the shopping and started cooking. By 3 everyone had arrived dinner would be ready for 4 we wanted an early dinner because Becky didn't want to go to bed too late and everyone was coming including the boys and Isla-May. 

We served dinner, everyone seemed to enjoy it. After everyone had eaten we decided that now was the perfect time to reveal our news. I tapped my glass ready to make an announcement. Becky stood up beside me. "Hey guys thank you all for coming, this is not a normal dinner we actually called you here to reveal some exciting news". I paused then both Becky and I shouted "We are expecting a baby!" 

Everyone was so happy for us coming up to give us hugs and kissed congratulating us. Mrs Smith seemed so excited she had wanted Daniel to settle down and have a family for a long time now. I was glad I could give him that. 

This wasn't the only part of the surprise though the cupcakes were next. We brought them out with decorations saying He or She in blue and Pink writing. We told everyone to grab one and see what the answer was, we counted down from 3. 3-2-1 What is it?. Everyone shouted blue and followed by "It's a Boy !" being shouted out so many times. 

We were once again swarmed with hugs and kisses from everyone. The reveal was a huge success everyone was happy for us and couldn't wait for him to come into this world. We also told everyone that we had moved the wedding up to next month before Bex gets any bigger. So that was a big announcement. 

We eventually broke up into little groups to have chats, David, Charlie, Nathan, Jason, my dad and I were all chatting about me being a dad again but to a little boy this time. They also started discussing my stag do. I told them that I didn't want to go to mad but still wanted to have some fun. We also all arranged to go for suit fittings next week so we are prepared. 

Amanda, my mum, Scarlet, Lottie and Bex went off to talk about her pregnancy and how she was feeling. Bex then went on to discuss wedding planning she wanted things to be done early so that she didn't stress out too much. Wedding dress shopping was arranged for next week as well, the rest of the girls decided on a lowkey hen night full of massages and face packs relaxing her as much as they can. Cake testing we decided to do in 2 weeks and venue checking we were going to start tomorrow. Everything was set in place. 

The Next Day ..

Becky's POV...

Today Daniel and I were going to look at potential venues for our wedding, we had seen a lovely ruins and garden that we thought would be perfect. We were on our way to see it. When we got there it was better than I could have imagined I knew this was going to be my wedding venue. Daniel seemed to love it too. We decided that this was the place, the flowers were stunning the Wisteria plants were hanging all over the place making it look magical. It was so magical that I think Matthew felt it too because I felt him kicking for the very first time. 

I grabbed Daniel smiling so brightly. He didn't have a clue why I was this happy but when I placed his hand on my belly he returned the smile. He had tears in his eyes. After booking the venue we started heading home but I noticed that Daniel had missed the turning for our apartment so I decided to ask him where we were going. He told me it was a surprise. 

We drove for another 20 minutes and arrived at a beautiful big house with a lovely front garden. I wondered who's house we were visiting but he didn't tell me. We knocked on the door of the house and someone who looked as though they were an estate agent opened it. She greeted us and then gave us a tour of this beautiful house. 

From this tour I guessed that it was potential for us to live in. I really saw our family here. Bella playing in the garden with Max. The kitchen where we could eat together at the breakfast bar. The master bedroom and small one next to it could be Matthews nursery. Plenty of rooms for the family and if we were to have anymore children too. 

After our tour she left us to explore on our own. I told Daniel that I felt like this was really a home. He felt the same and asked whether I wanted to see anymore options before we made a final decision. I told him that this was the house I had been dreaming of.

 I knew this was the house and so did little Matthew as he started kicking a lot. Daniel noticed my discomfort and asked straight away I didn't tell him anything just pointed to my belly where he instinctively placed his hand there and immediately Matthews strong kicks died down a little. His daddy's touch calmed him down. He was already such a good dad to him and he wasn't even born yet. 

Daniel put an offer in for the house and if we were successful we would be notified tomorrow. 

One Week later

Daniel's POV... 

We were successful in the house hunt we made an offer on our dream house and found out that we were successful and bought it. We have gradually began moving in but won't move in fully until after the wedding. 

Today was my suit fitting and the girl's dress shopping, I decided on a traditional black suit, I looked pretty good if I may say myself. My grooms men were Nathan, Jason, my best mates James and Kieran and Charlie Becky's brother. They all got matching grey suits looking good. My dad and David got different suits but looked good. 

David wanted to look good for our special day he was going to be walking Bex down the aisle taking the role that her father should have. My best man was obviously Nathan as he was my brother.

 Becky was dress shopping today with Scarlet, My mum, Amanda, Lottie and Bella. I hope she finds the perfect dress for her. 

When we were done Charlie and I went back to the apartment. The girls were back already, Bella was watching cartoons on the sofa with Max asleep on her lap. She looked happy stroking his fur. I wondered where Becky was so I asked Bella. "Bella Where's mummy?" She said she was in our room. 

I went to find her while Charlie sat with Bella. When I went into our room I saw Bex on the floor crying, I rushed over wanting to know what was wrong. "What's wrong baby, why are you crying?" She told me that she received a phone call from her lawyer telling her that Jordan has escaped from prison. 

Sh*t I thought how the hell did they let it happen. Now I understand why she was crying so much she finally thought she was safe and now she doesn't feel safe at all. I finally got her to calm down after telling her that too much stress on her will harm Matthew. 

Eventually she calmed down but look exhausted all the crying really took it's toll on her. She fell asleep in my arms on the floor, I picked her up and tucked her into bed. I stayed for a while stroking her hair and rubbing her belly. I then got up to check on Bella. Charlie had made pasta and meatballs that Bella was gobbling up as it was all over her face. I went and cleaned her face after she was done and took her off for a bath. After that I took her to bed and read her a story and kissed her goodnight. 

When I walked back into the living room Charlie was washing up I decided to take this time to talk to him about Becky and the Jordan situation. He knew what he did to her and how badly it affected her but when I told him the news of his escape he was beyond angry. I told him that it was really affecting Bex and I didn't know what to do.

 It was out of my control I could only support her she already had a restraining order against him. Charlie told me to just be there for her comfort her and support her no matter what. I then went to bed and checked on Bex. She was still asleep but I noticed tear stains on her cheeks. She really was having a terrible time of it.

 I decided to phone our lawyer and see if he had anymore information for us. He didn't have anything but reassured me that the police were searching for him. I cannot believe this is happening why can't we catch a break. 

I fell asleep soon after the phone call. Half way through the night Becky had another nightmare crying so much that she exhausted herself. We needed to focus on our wedding and Matthew for now and not let Jordan come to mind. She didn't need this added stress. She needed to be calm and safe.
