A Bakers Dozen dreams

Another Warning

Becky's POV...

Living with Daniel has been all I have ever dreamed of. He is so sweet he gives me a lift to work every morning with Bella after I make his breakfast and coffee he leaves for work himself. Bella and I hang out in the café with David and Amanda when it isn't busy. When it is Bella sits in the office watching Peppa Pig on her iPad. I love working where I do but I have always dreamed of owning the building next door and opening a Bakery franchise in my name. 

You might think that it would draw customers away from the café but if I connected the two buildings together many of the items I sell in the bakery could be eaten in the café which would mean people are more likely to buy drinks meaning the café will profit as well. It has always been my dream but I haven't been able to make it a reality due to lack of funds.

 I was closing up today so Bella was staying at David and Amanda's as Daniel also had to work late. He assured me that he would still pick me up though as he didn't want me to walk home alone in the dark which I appreciated. I had turned the sign over to say we were closed and began cleaning up. I was then interrupted by the flickering of the lights they seemed to go off for 2 minutes then turn back on. It scared me a little as it wasn't something that I expected.

 I turned around thinking nothing of it and went back to finishing what I was doing. It wasn't until I heard the door open that I turned around again, what was in front of me left me shaking. It was him. He had found me. He looked so angry.

 I backed myself into the corner trying to put as much space between us as I could. It didn't work he kept creeping closer and closer to me. My back hit the wall and there I realised I had nowhere to go I was trapped. My heart was beating so hard I couldn't stop the tears from escaping my eyes. He slapped me and grabbed my chin and made me look him in the eyes.

 His grip was like a vice so tight I could feel his finger nails digging in. He opened his mouth to speak. "I thought I told you that I wanted you to come home why do you continue to disobey me honey."  I didn't respond I didn't know what to do. He noticed my reluctance and took my silence as me being smug so hr took to his usual violent ways and pulled out a knife and sliced my stomach not deathly deep but enough to do significant damage. 

I then decided to open my mouth "I wouldn't go back to you ever." I screamed. I instantly regretted it because he punched me in my stomach I sunk to the floor and he kicked me on every part of my body especially my stomach. It reminded me of the night I left I was worried for my baby he had kicked me hard in my stomach so many time when I was pregnant with Bella that I was worried that he had hurt her so I needed to leave and make sure she was safe.

 I was brought back to reality when I felt the knife pressing against my thighs. I felt it dig in I screamed and tears escaped my eyes. I was now scared and all I wanted was Daniel. I then heard his voice shouting my name. This caused my worst nightmare to get up and run out like a coward. He left me there with his words "This is your last warning." I was terrified but soon relieved when I heard Daniel's voice getting nearer. 

Daniel's POV...

I had to work late tonight and Becky was closing up the café so David had offered to have Bella for the night which we both really appreciated. I texted Becky to let her know that I would still pick her up. She replied with a kiss emoji and said see you later. When I was finally finished work it was 10 pm. 

Becky normally shut around 9 but needed to clean up so would be done around the same time as me. I sent her a text letting her know that I was on my way. I didn't get a reply so thought she must be busy and didn't think anything of it. I arrived and saw that the closed sign was up but the lights were half on. 

She normally has them all on until she leaves. The door was unlocked which I thought was weird she always locks it  when she is cleaning then unlocks it to get out. Everything just felt weird today, I called out her name but got no response. I called out again but this time I heard what sounded like someone running out the back door.

 I made my way to look behind the counter and what I saw was a sight that I never wished to see again. Becky was lying down holding her stomach with blood all around her and knife marks in her thighs. I was totally confused what the hell happened to her. She gave me a weak smile and whispered "You came you came just in time." After that her eyes closed. 

I leapt to her side and put pressure on her wound. With my other hand I called for an Ambulance and the police. In a nick of time they both arrived. I explained how I found her and what my relationship to her was. I told them that she had been attacked and I had disturbed her attacker. The Paramedics got to work on her as soon as they rushed in and took her onto a stretcher. 

The police asked if there was anyone I could call to stay with them at the scene. I decided to call David he knew more about this place than anyone. I had to explain what happened he told me he would be there as soon as he could and would leave Bella with Amanda. I went with Becky in the Ambulance. I was scared but I held onto her to reassure her that I was there. I told her we would get whoever did this. I had a feeling that it had something to do with her ex but I had to wait until she confirmed my suspicion. 

We arrived at the hospital and she was immediately taken to theatre. I was directed to the waiting room. I called Nathan because I needed someone to be with me. He told me My mum was looking after Isla-May so that Lottie could come too. When they arrived they rushed to hug me. I really needed them right now.

 After 3 hours a doctor emerged from the direction Becky was taken in. He told me that she was now stable but needed to recover. I asked if it had done any damage to her in the long run but he said luckily it was milometers away from puncturing her one of her major organs and that she was incredibly lucky. He said she was bruised in other places but other than that she would just be scarred both physically and mentally.

 I knew now I had to be there for her. I went to her room and found that she was already awake but what hurt me the most wasn't her condition but the tears that were in her eyes. I went to her immediately hugging her trying now to squeeze her too tight. She completely crumbled in my arms. I knew this attack was not random. I wanted to ask her about it but I didn't want to push her. I decided not to talk about it unless she brought it up. 

She wanted me to hold her so I got on the bed with her. I told her that the police will want to talk to her. As I said that two detectives came in. I asked her if she wanted me to stay and she nodded gripping my hand so tightly. She began to tell us all what happened.

 I was horrified by what happened to her and when I learnt that it was her ex I was even more angry. She said he threatened her on multiple occasions and that this was her last warning which led me to believe that if she didn't do what he said this time next time it may cost her her life. JORDAN NEWMAN was a dead man. I was going to do everything in my power to protect her from him.

 The detectives said that there was enough evidence to arrest him. They had officers out looking for him as we speak. They got a call to say that he had been detained. They asked if we wanted to press charges and obviously we said yes. Once they left Becky needed to sleep so we decided to snuggled down. I felt Becky shaking, screaming and crying at around 3 am. It got so bad that she wouldn't settle at all.

 I decided to get a doctor to try and calm her down. He had to give her an injection which would mean she would be asleep for a while. I took this time to update both Nathan and David on her condition. David said that Bella was becoming really restless and worried about her mummy as she hadn't spoken to her. I told David to bring her here for lunch time as Becky would be awake then. 

At lunchtime Bella had arrived with David Nathan and Lottie also tagged along to see Becky. She was finally awake after a long stressful night. She brightened up when she saw Bella and took her into her arms. They snuggled together while Lottie chatted with them both. Nathan, David and I chatted about what was the next steps. I told them that the police had Jordan in custody and there was enough to charge him with attempted murder and GBH. 

What Becky didn't know was that there was going to be a trial so she would have to stand up against him. I knew Becky would be scared but if he could convince her that this was the best option and would keep him away she would probably agree. When we went back in the room Bella had fallen asleep beside her mummy.

 The doctor came in to take Becky's reading and said everything was looking good and if they stayed that way then she would be able to leave tomorrow afternoon. I wanted to stay with Becky tonight but she told me to take Bella home. When Bella and I got home she wouldn't let go of me so I decided that she could sleep with me in mine and Becky's room. We got in and snuggled up in the fluffy blankets. She looked up to me and asked if mummy was going to be okay I said yes and kissed her forehead saying that I love her. She replied with a "I love you too Daddy". That made my heart melt, I felt like such a proud dad at this moment.

 Bella was my little girl. I texted Lottie to see if Becky was okay she told me that the doctor had to sedate her again due to her having another harsh nightmare. I was worried that this was too much for her to handle mentally. I knew that she wouldn't want to go back to the café for a while. I decided to take some time off work to spend with my girls and nurse Becky back to health. I had to be there for her now more than ever. I also needed to talk to her about the trial. 

We needed to get a good lawyer and I knew the person for the job. We needed to get a big conviction from this which would mean he would be out of our lives for good. Tomorrow was the start of Becky's home recovery we needed to make sure she was comfortable and safe. I know she will be extremely paranoid and most probably have really bad nightmares but I was going to be there for her no matter what. Day or night. Bella was also exactly what Becky needed she would have someone else to support her. 

I looked down at Bella she had the most incredible mummy and she knew it. They were as thick as thieves I needed to make sure they were safe. I have arranged for the apartment to be more secure installing alarms and cameras more for my peace of mind. If for whatever reason I wasn't here I would be aware if something was wrong this time. I could maybe prevent something happening to them in the future. I may be paranoid myself but I did not want to lose my girls never ever.
