Chapter One
The Unwanted Bride
Liana Vale stared at the enormous mansion in front of her and wondered if she had made the biggest mistake of her life.
The Black Moon Pack's estate looked more like a fortress than a home.
Tall black gates surrounded the property, while guards stood at every entrance. Beyond them was a massive stone mansion hidden beneath towering trees.
Liana swallowed.
"This is where I'm supposed to live?"
Her aunt gave her a nervous smile.
"Yes."
"For how long?"
Her aunt hesitated.
"Until the marriage ends."
Liana's fingers tightened around the small suitcase in her hand.
She still couldn't believe this was happening.
Yesterday, she had been living quietly in her little village.
Today, she was the future wife of Alpha Kael Draven.
The most powerful Alpha in the region.
The man everyone warned her about.
Before Liana could ask another question, the enormous gates opened.
A convoy of black cars appeared.
Everyone around her immediately became silent.
Liana looked toward the cars.
One door opened.
A tall man stepped out.
He wore a black suit, and his expression was so cold that Liana instinctively stopped breathing for a moment.
Alpha Kael Draven had arrived.
His eyes moved across the crowd before finally settling on her.
For several seconds, neither of them spoke.
Then Kael walked toward her.
"Liana Vale?"
She nodded.
"Yes."
His gaze remained fixed on her.
"You understand why you're here?"
Liana hesitated.
"Because our packs agreed to the marriage?"
"That's what they told you."
Something about his answer made her uneasy.
"What does that mean?"
Kael looked past her toward the mansion.
"You'll find out soon enough."
He turned and walked away.
Liana stared after him.
That was it?
No welcome.
No congratulations.
Not even a smile.
She picked up her suitcase and followed him through the gates.
She didn't know it yet, but the moment she stepped into the Black Moon Pack's territory, her old life was over.
And somewhere inside that mansion was a secret about her family that could change the entire supernatural world.
