THE MOONSTONE AWAKENS
The silver light continued to spread through the chamber.
Liana stood frozen.
She could feel something changing inside her.
Not pain.
Power.
The strange warmth that had followed her since she arrived at the Black Moon Pack was becoming stronger.
Kael stepped toward her.
“Liana, look at me.”
She did.
“You're safe.”
“I don't feel safe.”
“I know.”
Lucian moved closer.
“The Moonstone has awakened because the heir has accepted her bloodline.”
Liana shook her head.
“I don't understand.”
“You don't need to understand everything tonight.”
A loud crash came from above.
Kael immediately looked toward the stairs.
“They're here.”
Ethan drew his weapon.
“How many?”
“Enough.”
Kael turned toward Liana.
“Stay with Ethan.”
This time, Liana didn't argue.
Kael and Lucian moved up the stairs.
Liana followed Ethan toward the hidden exit.
Then she heard voices.
“Find the girl!”
“Search every room!”
Ethan stopped.
“They're already inside.”
Liana's heart raced.
“What do we do?”
Ethan looked at the crystal.
“Your mother left you more than a secret.”
“What?”
“The Moonstone.”
He pointed toward the pedestal.
“The crystal is only a key.”
Liana looked at it.
“Then where is the Moonstone?”
Ethan pointed toward the wall.
“Behind there.”
Liana approached the wall.
A symbol appeared beneath her hand.
She pressed it.
The wall opened.
Inside was a chamber filled with silver light.
At its center floated a small stone glowing like moonlight.
The Moonstone.
Liana stepped closer.
A voice echoed through the chamber.
Not from outside.
From within her.

She reached toward the stone.
The moment she touched it, the entire estate shook.
Every light in the mansion went out.
Then silver light burst through the windows.
Outside, every wolf in the Black Moon Pack began howling.
The intruders stopped.
Kael looked toward the chamber.
“Liana.”
The doors opened.
Liana stepped out holding the Moonstone.
The strange energy surrounding her had disappeared.
She looked calmer than before.
But her eyes had changed.
They carried a faint silver glow.
Kael stared at her.
“The Moonstone chose you.”
Liana nodded.
“I think it did.”
A man stepped forward from the shadows.
He was one of the council elders.
Liana recognized him immediately.
“You.”
The elder smiled.
“Your parents should never have hidden you.”
Kael stepped in front of Liana.
“You were the traitor.”
The elder laughed.
“For twenty years, I waited for the heir to return.”
Ethan raised his weapon.
“You betrayed the Vale family.”
“They stood in my way.”
Liana looked at him.
“Why do you want the Moonstone?”
“Because it can unite every supernatural bloodline under one ruler.”
Kael's expression hardened.
“And you believe that ruler should be you?”
“Of course.”
The Moonstone suddenly glowed brighter.
The elder stepped backward.
“No.”
Liana raised the stone.
A wave of silver light spread through the room.
The elder fell to his knees.
His power disappeared.
The guards rushed forward and surrounded him.
Kael looked at Liana.
“It's over.”
Liana looked down at the Moonstone.
“No.”
Kael frowned.
“What?”
She looked toward the forest.
“The stranger said there was more.”
Lucian appeared behind them.
“There is.”
Everyone turned.
He looked at Liana seriously.
“The Moonstone was never created to rule the supernatural world.”
“Then what was it created for?”
“To protect it.”
Liana stared at the glowing stone.
Her entire life had been built on secrets.
Now she finally knew why.
She wasn't an ordinary Omega.
She was the last heir of an ancient bloodline, the guardian of the Moonstone, and the key to protecting every supernatural pack.
Kael stepped beside her.
“You don't have to face this alone.”
Liana looked at him.
For the first time, she smiled.
“I know.”
Outside, the moon shone over the Black Moon Pack.
The danger was gone for now.
But far beyond the forest, another pair of silver eyes watched from the darkness.
A voice whispered,
“The heir has awakened.”
Then the figure disappeared.
Liana looked toward the forest.
She knew the story wasn't truly over.
