" A child you say?"
" Yes, I think a child would put an utmost end to his immorality. You should extremely think about it, my child."
Helen Sighed deeply and said to Jesse's grandmother in a relatively sad tone, " I know you're very encouraging about this relationship but I don't think a child will make things any more manageable between us." Helen Uttered. " On the contrary, if we had a child, that poor soul would be nothing additional than a bargaining chunk between the two of us. I don't want Jesse to be bound to stay with me just because I'll be having his child."
" What's the need to stay with me if there are no emotions connected; I don't want that kind of life and neither do I want my child to have such an unhappy and disappointed life."
Helen was groping extremely hurt with each word enunciated. The grandmother could sense through her utterances how intensely hurt and devastated she was about her grandson.
" It's okay, grandmother. I'll be alright and I think you should let Jesse live the life he invariably wanted." Helen Sighs sadly. " If Linia happens to be the love of his life, then let it be."
In the meantime, Jesse was in a club with a friend.
"Jesse, why are you here instead of being home and looking after your lovely wife?"
Jesse's friend asked him frantically.
Jesse drunkenly answered, " Lovely?
What are you speaking about? Do you even hear yourself?"
" My wife is not lovely; She's unbearable; all she wants is to get rid of me so that she can go back to her boyfriend." Jesse drank even more.
"Boyfriend?" The friend had a difficult time thinking what his drunkard friend was telling him as it was noticeable to him he was misconstrued.
"Helen didn't love me; She never did and that's why she didn't think twice before signing the divorce documents." Jesse's countenance fell flat on the table. " Jesse, wake up!" His friend made an effort waking him up but in vain. As he couldn't wake him up, he thought of calling someone to come fetch him. Glimpsing through his contacts, he chanced upon his wife's number and peeked at it for a minute before finally pressing it and launching the call.
Meanwhile, in Jesse's apartment, Helen went back to loading her clothes to leave her husband's apartment.
Remembering, again and again, her husband's lethargy toward her, she prevails upon herself of the unfortunate fact that he didn't love her even a little and never will in the end.
" Leaving this sprite tale would be for the best." Helen Got a surprising phone call from her husband's number. She thought twice before picking up the call.
" Why are you calling me Jesse?"
Helen acted rather coldly toward the one she comprehended to be her husband.
"Are you Helen ?" Helen was flabbergasted as the one on the phone wasn't her husband but it was without a doubt his number.
" Who are you and why do you have Jesse's phone?" She was about to say 'husband' but changed it at the last minute.
"I'm one of Jesse's friends and the reason I'm calling is because he's incompetent to do it." The friend's last sentence perplex Helen.
" Unable to do it? What do you mean?"
" He's at a club and he's squandered. I called for you so you could come to pick him up." The friend clarified the condition to Jesse's wife.
Helen was just about to go down there and have him picked up but as she recalled how Jesse left with Linia while twisting, an impulsive anger took over her and she told Jesse's friend out of nowhere, " Mister, I think you got the wrong person here. Goodbye!"
Before Helen had the chance to hang up the call, Jesse's friend asked her in an urge, " How could I have gotten the wrong person?" Aren't you Jesse's wife? Did I get that wrong?" Helen Regained her composure a little before answering the latter's question. "
No, you didn't get it wrong, but I'm not the one you should have called."
Jesse's friend asked Helen hypothetically, " Who should I have called then, if not you?"
" You're his friend, are you not?"
Helen Gasped before continuing. "
Linia is your friend's beloved honey whom he loves more than anyone and anything, so do something and call her.
Your friend will be pleased if she was the one to come pick him up."
Helen Was ready to hang up the call now, but Jesse's friend wasn't quite done with her. "You're amazing, Helen." The latter was astonished by his sudden commendation.
Although it looked like a compliment. It wasn't in the end.
" You're the wife every man wishes to have." Helen felt this awkwardness. through his words. " After all, not everyone would be able to acknowledge and assume their husband's cheating like you; that's why you're amazing. If I had one with me, I'd probably give you an Oscar for your performance."
Jesse's friend's utterances ripped the latter to pieces. What was he saying? How could he be so impolite? Helen was so hurt by the latter's words that she wanted nothing more but to let out her misery, but more than anything, she had some scores To settle.
"Who do you think you are speaking to me like that?" Helen lashed at Jesse's friend. " Do you even know me and what I've been going through?" Jesse's friend could feel Helen’s bitterness but more than that, he could feel her misery through the phone even though he couldn't see her face.
"You should come to pick up Jesse as soon as possible; The Club will be closing in a few." Jesse's friend's tone changed narrowly. Both of them hung up the phone from their respective locations.
It didn't take long for Helen to reach the club with the address she had been given. Arriving there, she didn't find her husband's friend anywhere.
"You're strong and brave for accepting how he's treating you without a word." Jesse's friend was hidden in a corner watching the two, especially Helen as she was taking Jesse away.
Getting home, Helen Laid her husband on the bed and went to bring a cloth and some water to wipe the alcohol off of him.
She unbuttoned his shirt and pants, took the dripping cloth, and started cleaning his body all over. Starting from his face to his throat and moving further down arose Jesse who unexpectedly woke up in the action.
Without a word and taking the latter by surprise, Jesse flipped their positions and Helen was now under him with himself being on top.
Sneerely, he asked Helen, " What were you doing just now, or rather I should be asking, What were you trying to do to me as I was lifeless and helpless?"
