He looked up for a second, his eyes filled with warmth and understanding. “They’re as good as can be expected.”
“The vets took care of them?”
Cristian shook his head as he plated the eggs. “They got some MDs to come in and help. Sons of Ulric. They worked on Mönkhbat, while the vets worked on Ganbold. Mönkhbat is still asleep after surgery, but Ganbold is awake and alert.”
I sighed and rubbed my face, as if to wipe away the worries. “Thank f**k. They are so young, Cristian! This was their first time outside Killers territory.”
He placed a plate in front of me and another one next to it. “Sit down and eat. We’ll go see them once you’re ready.”
