Chapter 21
Iris walked away from the middle of the store - from the handgun on the floor and Bob’s moans and the other three women - without a backward glance. Gena’s insistence that she’d only been in the warehouse alone for a few minutes hadn’t entirely left her mind.
She wasn’t about to leave Gena on her own again. Iris raised the assault rifle and stepped through the door.
Cold starlight outside helped her see a little better, but not much.
Rita Hicks off to the side, well away from the barn doors.
Two young boys and a girl, surely still in high school down in Wolf Branch during less insane times. One of the boys held a huge flashlight toward the inside of the store.
