I woke to Mab shaking me. “I have found Henri for you. Phoebe and I put a seeker on him and he’s returned.”
I tried to pull myself out of a groggy state, but had trouble focusing. “Where is he?”
“He is not well. The queen’s physician sees to him.” Mab pushed me back down to rest. “I am blocking the emperor’s powers. He cannot travel here while I remain.”
“What was done to Henri?” I moved Mab’s arm away and sat up in bed more fully alert.
“The emperor may have broken his mind.” Mab moved away from me as I stood up and dressed.
“I wish to see him.”
Ignoring me, she left the room and called back, “He is with Clarissa.”
