CHAPTER 2

Lord Lucien as well as the other men seated all turned to the direction of the door once it was flung opened. His brows arched at the sight of his daughter. "Father, I need to speak with you." She said before Lord Lucien could speak. "Can't you see girl that I'm in a meeting? Whatever it is, hold your peace till I'm done." "Father–" She muted when he raised his left hand. She paused a bit, looking at him to know if he would change his mind and give her a minute to talk about her weird dreams, but he didn't. "I'll meet you in your room." He said. She turned and looked at the old black hooded men seated and staring at her as if they wanted to eat her raw. She scoffed and left the room. Elara squashed yet another paper she and threw it into the waste bin beside her. She got another sheet out and scribbled in it. Squash and throw. Tore a paper. Scribble. A girl beside her turned slowly and looked at her, and turned back to continue pressing her phone. Squash– She snapped back to reality and blinked twice at the loud sound of the bell. Elara frowned her face as students ran out of the classroom. She crushed the paper on her hand and threw it again for the fourth time into the waste bin as she shouldered her back and left the classroom. She had long been waiting for the bell to ring so she could run away from the class as usual. As she walked down the dark hallway, she could heard distant whispering all over here. She tried keeping her pace slowly, but the voices became more closer and louder to her. Elara turned abruptly and arched a brow at the sight of Raven and her disciples. "What's with you, rat? Acting like you're been chased?" Raven scoffed at her and the other girls giggled. Elara hissed and kept on walking knowing fully well that it was not Raven and her girls that played with her, and knowing this made her worried a little. She hastened her steps back to her dorm, flashes of the dream came dancing in her head. "f**k stop giving me that look!" Elara said as she shut the door behind her and threw her bad on the bed. "Dad doesn't just want to listen to me. He's always busy with the other men and I'm sick." She turned to Emily who gave her a bulging eyes. "What? I know....I know.... he's bound to have meetings, but what of me?" She threw herself on the bed and breathed in deeply. Emily climbed on the bed and laid on her. "Elara?" She opened her eyes and sat up on the bed. "Elara...??" The voice came again with another knock. She stood up and walked to the door and opened it. Her brows arched and her lips grew up in a frown. "Hey Elara." Bree greeted smiling sheepishly. "Hmmmm." Elara replied coldly. "Was wondering why you left class in a hurry. We have exercise now." She said with her teeth never closed. "Nothing." It took a while of silence before she replied. "I'll be there." "Wanna go with you. I can wait." Elara was already getting frustrated from the smile on Bree's face, as she gave her a weird stare that made Bree come back to her senses, but still never taking off the smile. "Okay, guess that's a no then. See you in the lobby." Bree said as she waved a friendly goodbye and left. Elara let out a breath she didn't know she had been holding when she shut the door behind Bree. "I don't know what's up with that girl." She sat on her bed. "But that's why the way." She paused and breathed out. "I don't know...I don't know.....I just keep hearing those voices and they're annoying. I always wonder if I'm the only one who's hearing them. They're traumatizing me–" Emily kicked the pen on her desk which rolled to a drawing of an ugly creature with horns on its head. "Oh C'mon." She scoffed, waving her hands as if to wave out the thought. "Dark Lord, seriously?" Her brows went up as her eyes dilated. "Can't be." She paused. "He won't dare disturb...c'mon." Emily round herself and sat on the table staring at Elara to argue with her shadows. Brielle walked into the restroom only to be caught up in her hallucinations—or should I say imaginations? She stood still watching Elara talking to her reflection without her knowing her friend had walked in. Brielle walked slowly to her back and also looked at her self in the mirror, as if trying to see whoever Elara was communicating to. Elara blinked twice and jerked out from whatever she was going through, as she spuned around to Brielle in surprise. "Wh...what....?" "I should be the one asking that, wh...what....what in the world are you doing?" Brielle asked, fixing her hands on her waist. "Emmm... talking.... talking to myself of course. It's not a crime isn't it?" Elara turned back to the mirror and started saying words audible to Brielle. "Yeah, it's not a crime, but it's a sign of a huge mental crime." Brielle held her shoulders. "What's it Elara? Been noticing for some days, you've been talk to yourself and acting strangely." Her voice was low and soft. Elara wanted to tell her friend—yeah, her best friend. She wanted to tell her how she's been hearing voices and seeing things that she wasn't meant to. But she knew she couldn't. She accepted that was part of a witch and didn't want to reveal her true identity to Brielle or anyone outside her world, or it would cost her her life and family and even other witches out there. "I'm fine Brie." She gave out a reluctant smile. "Well, I don't think so. Then why would you decline Nathan's date the other night and you haven't called or texted him." "Nathan!" The name echoed in her head as she said it out loud. "Yeah, Nathan." She turned around quickly. "How's he?" "Seriously Elara, how's he?" Her arms crossed over her chest. "How do you feel when you get turned down from the one you love and haven't receive a feedback to the reason for the turn down?" Brielle tilted her head to the side and raised a side of her lips. "I have to go see him right away." Elara said as she picked up her back and hurried out of the restroom. "Wait for me asshole!" Brielle said, following immediately. The three dark shadows Elara were talking to remained in the mirror, as if waiting for her to come back. Elara stared at Nathan for a while, before shifting her gaze to his well shaped pink lips. Despite she missed his coffee date and didn't call or text him, but here she was, in his arms, in the boys football changing room during closing hours, not him shouting, nor complaining, but just showing how he missed her. He was so handsome that Elara couldn't deny. She smiled at him, wishing he was one like her. "Emmm....Nathan, I'm sor—" "Shhhh..... don't. I'll take it like you were so busy." He bent low and sucked her lips into his. He dragged her closer to him as he nibbled his tongue at her lower lips begging for entrance, which she did of course. He had his tongue inside of her mouth once she opened it, and their tongue entwined and fought for dominance. "I love you, Elara." Nathan words sent chills through her veins. Elara pulled herself more closer to him, as if to enter inside of him. She caressed his back with pleasure as she unbuttoned his shirt. The kiss was hot, fast and demanding. "Emm.... I'm sorry I think I'm going to far." Elara breathed out as she released herself from the kiss. Nathan chuckled. "Wanna come my place tonight, maybe we could have the night to ourselves?" He tugged a strand of her hair that fell forward to the back of her ear. "Emmm....I would love to, but I'm sorry I can't make it. Going out with my dad tonight and I promise I would make it." She searched his eyes to know if he knew she was lying. "No problem then. Your birthday is in a month time. Think that would be good." He smiled and kissed her forehead. Elara swallowed hard as she smiled slowly. "See you tomorrow then...gotta go." She kissed him and left.
