CHLOE. Adrian didn't come back home until much much later. It wasn't until it was sometime after midnight that the front door creaked open and Adrian and his brother stepped in, looking like something someone had dragged through heavy blood and mud and back. I had been unable to sleep for some reason, so I was curled on the sofa when they arrived.
