As Marcus and his group left the village, they continued on their journey through the countryside. The days were growing warmer, and the sun shone brightly overhead. After a few hours of walking, they came across a group of travellers on the side of the road. They were a ragtag bunch, and their clothes were worn and tattered. One of them, a tall man with a bushy beard, stepped forward. "Greetings, travellers," he said. "Might we have a word with you?" "Of course," replied Marcus, curious. "We were wondering if you had any spare food or supplies," said the man. "We've been travelling for days, and we've run out of rations." Marcus looked at the group, feeling sympathetic.
