He led me to the middle seat, holding it out for me, and I sat. Alexander didn’t even look my way, going back to his laptop. “You slept well, yes?” Leonardo asked as he took his seat again. Strangely, I did. I nodded, and he smiled. No other words were said, and we began eating. I helped myself to the pancake and reached for the honey, but before I could even touch it, Alexander grabbed it and placed it in front of me. “Thank–” I paused, turning to him with my eyebrows furrowed. There was syrup and chocolate spread beside the honey. How did he know what I was going for? “How did you know?” I asked, still looking at him. “Oh, she’s smart,” Leonardo chuckled. I looked at him, and he was focused on his meal. I looked back at Alexander, and he was now glaring at his father.
