There she was, standing before us, looking frightened and scared, as if she had seen ghosts and wished she could disappear from our midst.
“Good… morning…” she started, her voice barely holding together.
“Good morning?” I gritted my teeth angrily at her. How dare she stand there and say good morning when my brothers and I hadn’t closed our eyes all night? During dinner, we realized she didn’t join us at the table, and when we asked a maid, we were informed she was out of the mansion, perhaps for a walk. At first, I didn’t like the idea of her going out, but I shrugged it off, deciding to let her be. But as the hours ticked by, reaching ten p.m., we realized she wasn’t back because her intoxicating scent was still missing from the mansion.
