The contractions started just before dawn, two months after the attack. I'd been cleared by Dr. Sarah weeks ago- the baby was healthy, I was healing well, and we were both going to be fine. But when the first real contraction hit, stealing my breath and making my wolf whimper, all that medical reassurance flew out the window. "Duke." I shook his shoulder, trying to keep my voice calm.
