8 Shane shifted uncomfortably in a wooden chair as Fire Chief Mullins paced the room of his small, barren office. He’d been interrogated for a half hour like some prisoner of war, and it didn’t look like it was going to end anytime soon. He’d tried to keep his lips zipped about what he’d actually seen in the old warehouse, but somehow the grizzled old Marine had yanked the truth right out of him. The confession slipped out before he could stop himself. And he sure as hell was paying for it now. “So let me get this straight. You saw two women in the fire.
