Kat awakened in Hugh’s arms, glowing and satisfied. He made her feel like a goddess.
Where that other one was, she had no idea, but he had stunned her with his lovemaking. It was nothing like it had been before. He was no longer ill. He was strong and whole, a phoenix rising from his own ashes.
She stood and pulled him toward the bathroom, ready for another round.
He laughed and followed her into the huge shower.
“Oh, how I’ve missed this,” he sighed and kissed her under the water.

“Did you know there are water shifters in my family line?”
“Is that why you want to bathe all the time?”
