Kat poked her head into the patient room where Jared, and now Jacob, were staying. “How is he?”
Karma, dressed in her usual blingy attire, turned and frowned, flanked by an unconscious energy twin on either side. “Still out cold. Both of them.”
“I’m sorry. I should’ve told Jacob to stay here.”
Karma shrugged her bare shoulders. “I doubt it would have stopped him. He’d follow you anywhere, you know that.”
“I do, but you have to keep him here now. For his own good.”
“I will.” She touched Jacob’s face and smiled. “He’s resting well. I don’t sense any pain through the Bond now.”
The tender gesture surprised Kat. The connection between the two had been uninvited and unwanted by both of them, a result of Karma’s accidental bonding with Jacob’s twin brother.
