Chapter 3: Where was she?

1000 Words
Coming face to face to who stood before her eyes. It was a lie to say that Arielle wasn't shocked by what laid before her eyes. She couldn't believe her eyes, right in front of her eyes. Her wolf stood regal in front of her eyes. It wasn't the fact that it was her wolf that shocked her, it was the fact that she looked so big... Bigger than she looked in the physical world. And she seemed to be emanating so much power that Arielle even had a slight doubt that the wolf in front of her was her wolf. But remembering the way she looked when she was in control of her body, she knew that the wolf standing in front of her was her wolf. The wolf warily walked towards her, her golden eyes staring deeply at Arielle, her stare was so intense that it made Arielle gulp. But it wasn't in fear, it was in anticipation. Arielle tentatively stretched her hands at her wolf and her wolf padded closer, her tail wagging softly. She sniffed Arielle's hands, before looking at her with a hesitant gaze. However, after a while the wolf's gaze softened and she nuzzled Arielle's palm and bent down and cozied into Arielle's hand. Arielle was dumbfounded by the attitude that her wolf exhibited, she seemed to behave like a big baby, and that little action, made Arielle smile. She began to stroke her wolf's fur gently and slowly but surely, her wolf leaned into Arielle's touch and laid down cozily, to enjoy Arielle's pets, her closing in bliss. Arielle scratched behind her ears, her wolf let out a contented sigh and pressed closer to Arielle. Seeing this, Arielle too sat down and continued petting her wolf, she decided to place her wolf on her lap but she realized that she was too big. As if reading her thoughts, Arielle's wolf shrunk and cozied herself in Arielle's laps. Arielle was shocked at how her wolf could shrink herself in size. Was it magic? Or because it was her consciousness? "I haven't given you a name, yet." Arielle said to herself. She thought about it, the white fur and gold eyes made her resemble the moon and sun and thus made her think of Celine, the moon goddess. But she couldn't name her the moon goddess's name, so she decided to refine the name. "Let's call you, Selina." Selina growled in response, showing that she liked the name given to her. Without warning, Selina rubbed her head against Arielle's chest, and Arielle also wrapped her arms around Selina, feeling an overwhelming sense of belonging. Selina nestled into the warmth of Arielle's body, and relaxed, her breathing slowed and fell asleep. Arielle fell asleep too, feeling the warmth of her Selina's body. The sun had dipped below the horizon when the man returned to the garden, his heart racing with anticipation. He had left Arielle, some hours ago, instructing her to wait for him while he attended to pack business. But as he surveyed the garden, a sense of unease crept within him. Arielle was nowhere to be seen. He immediately started panicking and sniffed the air, her scent lingered in the air, it was faint but it was there. His instincts screamed warning, and he growled low in my throat. Where could she be? He had told her to stay put, to wait for his return, but she was nowhere to be found. Lots of thoughts went through his head as he tried to find an explanation for her sudden disappearance. Arielle wasn't someone who would get impatient and leave, he knew she would have waited for him. So what could have happened that she left? Suddenly, another scent caught his attention, one that made him have goosebumps - my brother's, Lucius. His presence here, combined with Arielle's disappearance, sent a chill down his spine. He had just talked to his brother a few days ago, his brother had told him to stay away from her, but he disagreed and had a fallout with his brother, but he couldn't believe that his brother had done something behind his back. It was too much of a coincidence that Lucius scent filled the air, he wouldn't come to this garden for no reason, except he knew she was here. The man immediately summoned his beta, through his mind link "Did you see Arielle leave the castle?" He asked his beta cautiously, as soon as he got to his front. "No I didn't sir, I was with you the whole time, I would go ask the guards" he said, planning to ask when the man's voice stopped him in his tracks "That would take too long, I will ask them myself" the man replied and closed his eyes, seemingly inquiring her whereabouts from his people. After some minutes, he opened his eyes, his aura blazing all over. It made the beta whimper in fear. "Find her. Now. Search every inch of the palace, forest and nobody leaves the palace without my permission. I want her found, safe and sound." He ordered. "Yes, Alpha Lucien" Lucien immediately turned away and mind linked his beta "Find Lucius, I want to know what he's done. His scent's all over the air. I suspect that this is more than a coincidence." His gamma responded and immediately took off. Through the mind link, Lucien found out that his beta had dispatched some of the pack members to begin the search for Arielle. However, even with this he couldn't calm down, he paced through the garden for hours, his senses were on high alert, in case Arielle came back. He stared at the forest in front of him, the feeling of premonition intensified, and he couldn't shake the feeling that something terribly wrong has happened to her. Where was she? Was she safe by herself? And what did his brother have to do with her disappearance? Did he maybe tell her about his secrets?
