Chapter 12: Shocking Things

Angelica POV
I was watching ‘Mama Mia 2’ now. Bri did my nails while watching the first one and I think that I annoyed her since once she was done with my nails she went upstairs and never came back. Oh well! I was on my 4th drink and was definitely feeling good and forgot about all that was said earlier. The movie ended and I was not ready to go to bed yet. I got up and finished my drink then grabbed a bottle of water. I was about to head upstairs when I noticed that the light was on in the office. I walked toward the office and could hear Diego talking but not what he was saying. I peeked through the door and saw he was sitting on the couch in the room. I knocked on the door. He hung up the phone really fast and came to the door.
“Angie?”
“What you doing?” I sung out a little slurred.
“How much have you had to drink?”
“A lot.”
“Princess that isn’t smart or safe.”
“So?” I shrug it off, “what are you doing in here?”
“I was talking to Michael and Bryson. Let’s get you some water and food.” He said moving me out of the way toward the kitchen.
“I have water right here.” I held up my water for him to see.
“You need more than that unless you want a hangover.”
“Whatever.”
“Your wasted.” He mumbled. “Sit.” He pushed me onto the couch.
“Rude.”
He went in the kitchen and came back with a big cup of water and a plate with a sandwich and some fruit. “Eat and drink. Then you can go to bed.” He said sitting down next to me putting the plate in my lap.
“Your bossy.” I slurred while taking a bite of the sandwich.
“I’m not bossy but you are drunk.”
“Nuh Uh.” I said around a mouth full of food.
“Don’t be a brat. Eat your food,” he told me in a stern voice that sent a tingling sensation down my spine.
I continued eating my food till the plant was empty then pushed it at him and stood up. I swayed on my feet a little and the room tilted.
“You ate but you still need to drink this water.” He said pulling me back onto the couch passing me the water.
I took it and downed it all immediately shoving it at him too.
“Good girl.” He took it and the plate getting up taking the dishes to the kitchen.
I watched him move around the kitchen thinking that he looked so hot and sexy. I stood up and leaned against the counter looking at him, “are you single?”
He stiffened and turned around wide eyed, “what?”
“Are you single? It’s not a trick question.”
“I’m not answering that.” He came around the counter and grabbed my elbow “but I will make sure you get upstairs to your room.” He dragged me all the way up to my room then pushed me down on the bed. “Now don’t be a brat. Stay here and go to bed.”
I pushed up on my elbows “Why should I? You’re not the boss of me!”
He leaned down and got in my face “Because I’m barely hanging on by a thread here. So, for the love of all that is holy princess. Stay in your room!”
I looked at him and my brain decided to work when I realized he was close enough. I pushed up and kissed him on the lips.
Diego’s POV
She kissed me! She actually kissed me! My Princess is kissing me. I pushed her down on the bed fighting every part of my body telling me to lose control and continue kissing her along with other things. I closed my eyes tight and pushed away from her and walked out of the room. I walked to my room and locked the door leaning against it. I couldn’t believe that she kissed me. Did she kiss me because she was drunk or because she truly had feelings for me. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and pulled it out.
“Hey Michael.” I answered blowing out a breath.
‘You good?’
“Ask me later.” I let out another breath walking over to my bed and sitting down.
‘Michael is that Deigo on the phone?’
‘Yeah why?’
‘I really need to talk to him about him and his princess.’
“Yeah I don’t want to talk about that.”
‘What’s that supposed to mean?’
“I’ll tell you when you get back.” I answered and hung up the phone.
I plugged my phone in to charge and set it on airplane mode so I wouldn’t get any messages. I got ready for bed when the house phone started ringing. I left my room and went to the kitchen to see that phone wasn’t ringing it was the phone in the office.
“s**t!” I said running to the office and locking the door. I grabbed the phone soon as it stopped ringing. I looked at the caller ID and saw that it was Ghost. I called him back and he picked up on the first ring.
‘Boss.’
“Give me good news.” I demanded.
‘I’m good at sticking my nose where it shouldn’t be,’ he laughed.
It was true that he was very good at getting information, “then what did you find out?”
‘It’s not good. What do you know about the Thanatos family?’
“Only that they’re very big influential family in Europe.”
‘Well, they are influential, but they are no longer in Europe they moved here to the states.’
“That’s not the best thing but why are you talking about them exactly?”
‘The names you gave me Sierra and Dante are both the future heirs of the Thanatos family. Sierra is very crazy but also very loyal to her brother.’
“Okay. Anything else”
‘They have money and have connections to mobsters and Mafia families. Also, Sierra is crazy and has put people in the hospital while Dante has killed many of his past girlfriends.’
“I’m guessing his family paid to get that covered up.”
‘They did. That’s not the worst thing I found...’
