Chapter 2: Re-Meeting the Guys

Angelica’s POV “We do know you.” They all said. “Huh? How?” My brother motioned for me to come sit down. I sat in the fake b***h’s seat and looked at the three males confused. “Sis it’s has been a while, but you do know them. They were always at the house and even played with you.” I looked at him still confused and he smiled. “This is Michael, Diego, and Bryson.” He said while motioning to each of them. “Wait you mean your football and track buddies?” These guys didn’t look like the guys I used to know. They all had tattoos and gave off bad boy vibes. “Long time no see.” Diego said with a lopsided smile. He looked so different from the last time I saw him he had a military haircut, he had a tan making his Mexican skin look more like a roasted hazelnut, his eyes look like they have seen some s**t, and I could see what looked like a tattoo peeking out of his shirt on his chest. He just look a whole lot meaner and rougher though he still joked it seemed. “I thought you wore glasses?” Bryson asked. Ever the quiet one. He didn’t talk much, but his actions always spoke volumes. He’s more built than he used to be and had some raven looking tattoos with a mix of weapons on his arms that I could see since his sleeves were rolled up. His blue-green eyes seemed to see right to my soul. Which made me always like him and crushed on him since he could see what was wrong with me growing up with a single look. “Contacts.” “Ah.” “What are you doing here really? It’s the middle of the semester.” My brother asked me. “Dude she just got here after you not talking to her. Let her breathe.” Michael voiced. He was always the voice of reason between them all. He was like another older brother, growing up and I used to have a crush on him. He was double in build then he used to be. I know he is a former boxer since I kept up with his success silently over the years. Though since he retired I think he got bigger and scarier. I think he had double the amount of tattoos that the others have. “I left school.” I told him looking down at my lap. “You what?” “I don’t want to talk about it.” I was avoiding eye contact because if I looked up I knew I would have 4 sets of eyes on me and I wasn’t ready to talk about what happened yet. “You can’t just say you left school without a reason.” I looked up at him trying to hold back tears, “please don’t push me.” He was shocked, mad, confused, and something else I couldn’t place. “Fine but you better talk about it later.” “I won’t.” “SIS!” “Don’t sis me okay. I was at school on a scholarship and s**t happened. School said I can finish this semester online but after that I will have to find another option.” “You’re going to counseling if it’s something that bad.” “You’re my brother not my parent. I will do what I want and what I want is not counseling.” “Ang if you need some where to stay you can bunk with me.” Bri came over with a waiter that passed out their food. “She will stay with me. She has a bedroom already.” My brother said leaving no room for discussion. Bri looked at me, “Keep the room ready just in case.” I told her. She gave me a thumbs up and walked away but then walked back “do you need a job?” “No, I have a job thanks though.” “If you change your mind just let me know.” “What do you do for work?” Bryson asked. “I have several. I transcribe old documents into English since I know 5 languages. It pays well and I can do it online. Second one is more of a fun hobby, but I get paid.” “Sounds like good jobs.” “Well at least you will be busy with work and school, so you won’t have to do much else.” My brother said bored while staring at his phone. “If you’re going to control everything about my life I will go live with Bri.” “You think I will let you live somewhere differently?” He asked with an arched eyebrow. “You didn’t mind when you sent me off to boarding school.” I countered. “Dude she is an adult you can’t control her.” “Michael she is my sister. My job is to look after her and keep her safe and that is what I’m going to do.” “Whatever.” I grumbled. I was too tired from driving to argue with him. I looked at Michael “Is your sister still in town?” “No, she moved away with her husband a year ago. They still live close just an hour away.” “I was hoping to see her.” I was close to his sister. People used to think that Pen, Bri and I were all siblings since we were attached at the hip. “I can text her that your back.” I held up pleading hands, and he chuckled pulling out his phone. “What about your brother Bry?” I asked using my nickname for him. He hated it but dealt with me calling him that. “He lives in town. He works at the local bakery and coffee shop.” “He works with my Aunt and Uncle.” Bri said sliding a plate in front of me. “I helped him get the job. Also, my Aunt and Uncle want you to come over Sunday for dinner.” “That was nice of you, and I will only come over if they are making their famous dish for me.” I teased. “They already said they are making your favorite dishes and dessert.” “Aww they are the best.” I told her. She rolled her eyes walking off. Her Aunt and Uncle where great and they always teased that I was their adoptive daughter. They always sent me gifts for holidays and birthday. They also visited Bri and I while at boarding school and college. We all ate in silence for the rest of the meal with each of the guys either messaging on their phones or getting up taking calls. I also noticed that people looked at them scared for their lives and avoided them as much as possible, which I found very odd. Since even the staff was scared of them. One of the waiters accidentally spilled some water near me and was shaking and apologizing to the point of over kill. I know I haven’t been home in about 10 years but what happened in that time that made everyone fear them. “Here is the house key and address. I moved. All of the stuff from your room was packed up and either in the room still or in the attic.” My brother said passing me a key and piece of paper. “Okay. Where is my room then?” “I’m heading home I can show her.” Bryson offered. I looked from him to my brother and back in confusion. “We all live together.” Michael answered my silent question. “What?” “The four of us all live in the same house.” Diego told me. “So, you will see us a lot.” He smirked. ‘Fucken great.’ I thought. I will be stuck in a house with 3 extremely hot guys that I used to crush on and still liked but now I think they have gotten hotter also it seems like they have new demons that they didn’t have before. “Welcome home princess.”
