Chapter 11: Lines Blurred

539 Words
The city skyline burned gold with the setting sun, but for Vivienne Moreau, the beauty was lost to the storm raging within her. She stood alone in her office, the leaked documents strewn across her desk. Headlines screamed from every news outlet: CEO’s Scandalous Affair Uncovered. Her name dragged through the mud. The company’s stock dipped. Her grip on Moreau Industries threatened. But the greater pain came from betrayal. Someone close had leaked the files. And she would find them. The door opened quietly. Liam entered, his jaw taut with barely restrained fury. “Vivienne…” She looked up, her mask cracking. “They’re going to ruin me.” “No.” He crossed to her, pulling her close. “We won’t let them.” For a moment, she let herself lean into him, drawing strength from his warmth. But resolve flared. “I need to fight. Tonight.” “Then I’ll fight beside you.” Emma watched the fallout unfold from her apartment, giddy with success. Marcus had given her the tools, but she had delivered the blow. Now Liam would drift from Vivienne.... humiliated, tarnished. Soon, he would need comfort. And Emma would be waiting. Vivienne summoned her inner circle: Natalie, Hugo, Armand. “We have a mole,” she said flatly. “And Marcus is behind this. We need evidence. Fast.” Natalie nodded. “I’ve traced the leak to an internal server. I’ll know more by morning.” “Double security,” Vivienne ordered. “And track Emma. She’s not to be trusted.” The meeting ended. Liam lingered. “Come with me,” he urged. “Somewhere safe.” She hesitated. “I can’t abandon this.” “Just for tonight. Regroup.” Finally, she relented. That night, they fled to a hidden estate outside the city. No cameras. No enemies. Alone in a grand bedroom, Vivienne stripped away her armor... and her clothes. Liam followed, eyes dark with hunger. “You’re forever mine,” he growled. “Always.” Their bodies collided, frantic with need. He laid her across silk sheets, worshipping her with mouth and hands. “Liam…” she gasped as he drove into her, deep and hard. Their cries echoed through the room as they shattered in each other’s arms. Afterward, tangled together, Vivienne whispered, “No matter what they do, they can’t take this from us.” “Never,” Liam vowed. But as dawn broke, a new threat emerged. Natalie’s call came sharp. “We have proof. Emma leaked the files. And Marcus funded the operation.” Vivienne’s eyes gleamed cold. “Then we’re going to destroy them.” Emma arrived at the office to find her keycard deactivated. Security escorted her out as cameras flashed. Her screams echoed down the hall. “You can’t do this to me!” But Vivienne stood at the top of the stairs, a queen unbowed. “You did this to yourself.” Later, Vivienne faced the press. “I make no apologies for love. I will not be bullied or broken.” The crowd erupted in applause. Liam watched from the wings, pride shining in his eyes. That night, they celebrated victory in each other’s arms, love blazing brighter than ever.
