Ella's POV If someone had told me that werewolves were real, I would have laughed even more if they told me I would fall in love with one. Looking back now, the signs were always there. I was just too in love to see them. Back then, my life was simple, busy, stressful, sometimes overwhelming, but normal. I worked at one of the biggest companies in the country, a place people would do anything to be part of. And somehow, I had made my place there. And that was where I met him. Kael Draven. My boss. Cold, strict, untouchable, he was a man every girl would want for herself, rich, tall, handsome and along the lines I fell in love with him, we both were. Everyone in the company gossip about me; saying I managed to seduce the most strict man on earth but it was Keal who was first interested in me, always checking up on me and help me with so much, taking care of my well being and saved me countless of time but on Friday night he showed me his true colors, his other side, now I understand why he always stood and care for me because I was his mate and I finally understand why I always felt an urge to be around him and his words the first day we meant Working in the production department was the most tedious in the entire company. We were having the third meeting of the month which have hardly began, and it was there CEO keal barged in Author “I sense my mate" keal said as beta Henry looked at him with a triggering eye, behind them was Claire “in this very building?" Beta Henry asked, Keal quickly follow the scent to the second floor, the producing department where having meeting and there she was with blonde hair, milk-white skin, pink heart-shaped lips she seat majestically and the Aura she possed was how a Luna should have. “Mate” Lucan, keal’s wolf said. Keal push the door and interrupt the meeting “Everybody out” he ordered no dared stayed back, “except you” he said, his fingers point towards ella, she was confused and frightened thinking she most have done something wrong but before she could figure out he rushed towards her and gave her a hug “Luna" he kept calling her name “Mate…. My luna" keal said "I do not understand, my name is Ella, I'm not Luna who you think I am,” she said. He looked at her first surprised but then disappointed on hearing those words his heart sank. She was human she could not see the mate bond so she can not recognize him. her alpha mate . “I'm sorry I mistook you for my late sister Luna" he said disappointed "Accept my condolences” Ella replied moving backwards freeing her self from his arms He walked away and pause by the door “come first thing tomorrow with your resume to my office” he said as he finally left ella was still panicking why he would want to see my resume. Ella POV “Hello” a female voice called me from my thoughts it was miss Claire "I'm very sorry for how you were treated by the CEO” she said holding my hands "You are Ella, I was ease dropping on your conversation with Keal, you mind if I treat you for lunch today” She smiled brightly at me. The company cafeteria was quieter than usual. Claire and I sat by the window with our trays in front of us while employees around us kept throwing curious glances my way, I could already hear the whispers. That’s the girl the CEO hugged. Did you see it? She must be special. I lowered my head slightly, embarrassed. Claire noticed immediately. “Ignore them,” she said casually while taking a sip of her drink. “People in this company gossip about everything.” she added I gave a nervous laugh. “Easy for you to say.” “You’ll get used to it.” she said I raised my eyebrows and looked at her properly for the first time. She was beautiful, confident, elegant… the kind of woman everyone naturally liked. “How long have you been working here?" I asked “Five years,” she replied. “And trust me, Kael has never acted that way around anyone before.” I nearly choked on my drink. “Please don’t start,” I groaned. The way she casually called him by his first name caught my attention. “You know him personally?” I asked.“A little,” she replied quickly, “we are cousins" “I honestly thought I was getting fired, maybe tomorrow ,” I admitted quietly, Claire laughed softly. “Trust me, if Kael wants your resume, that’s actually a good thing.” “How?” I asked “Because he noticed you.” she replied smiling I rolled my eyes. “You sound like the gossiping ladies downstairs.” I said “Maybe they’re right.” I pointed my fork at her warningly. “Don’t start.” Claire only smiled proudly. And somehow, by the end of lunch, we were already laughing like old friends. That was how everything started. Weeks passed, and Claire became my closest friend in the company. She always dragged me out during lunch breaks, stayed with me during overtime, and constantly teased me whenever Kael was around. And Kael… He kept finding reasons to see me. At first, it was work-related. Then slowly, it became personal, sometimes he called me into his office just to ask if I had eaten other times he offered to personally help me with projects that managers normally handled. And every single time I looked up I caught him watching me and somehow, no matter how busy he was, his attention always found me. People in the company noticed too and the gossip only grew. One evening, Claire walked into my office dramatically and dropped into the chair opposite me. “You like him.”she said I nearly dropped my pen. “No, I do not.” I replied anxiously, “Yes, you do” she nodded with a smirk, “He’s my boss” I said sharply “And?” she asked, “He’s cold.” I replied “He’s sweet around you.” “He’s terrifying.” Claire grinned. “Exactly.” I stared at her in disbelief before laughing despite myself. “You’re impossible.” “And you’re in denial.” Before I could reply, there was a knock on my office door, my heartbeat instantly betrayed me. Kael stepped inside. Claire smirked the moment she saw him. “I suddenly remembered I have somewhere to be,” she announced while standing up. “Claire” I called “Goodbye, lovebirds.” she said leaving. My jaw dropped as she escaped before I could stop her. Traitor. I said in my head Kael watched her leave before his eyes slowly returned to me. “You seem comfortable with her,” he said..“She talks too much,” I replied. A small smile appeared on his lips. That smile was rare, dangerously rare. “I wanted to ask you something,” he said quietly. I nodded slowly. “There is a dinner event tomorrow night.” He paused briefly. “Come with me.” I blinked. “As your employee?” I asked His gaze stayed fixed on mine. “No.” he replied The air between us suddenly felt heavier. “I’m asking because I want you there with me.” My heart started beating faster. Kael stepped closer. “You can say no,” he added softly. But the way he looked at me made saying no impossible. “O-okay,” I answered quietly. For the first time since I met him, Kael looked genuinely relieved. After that night, everything changed between us. The company gossip became worse because Kael stopped hiding how much attention he gave me. He picked me up from work himself. We had dinner together almost every night. And somehow, the cold and untouchable CEO everyone feared became different whenever he was around me. One evening, while driving me home, he suddenly spoke. “Ella” he called “Hm?” I responded “I don’t want to keep pretending anymore.” I turned to look at him. His hands tightened slightly on the steering wheel. “I like you,” he admitted quietly. “More than I should.” My breath caught instantly. “And I want you to be mine.” he said The way he said it sent warmth through my chest. I smiled nervously, “You’re very direct.” “I’ve never been good at hiding what I want.” I laughed softly before looking down shyly. “Then… I guess I should answer properly” I said as kael’s eyes stayed on me carefully. “Yes,” I whispered. For a moment, he just stared at me like he couldn’t believe it. “You’re saying yes?” he asked softly. I nodded slowly. A small smile appeared on his lips before he reached for my hand and kissed it gently. And that was the beginning of us. Months later, Kael took me to the rooftop of one of his hotels after dinner. The city lights looked beautiful around us, I smiled while walking toward the edge. “This place is amazing” But when I turned around, Kael was no longer standing, he was kneeling and my eyes widened instantly. “Kael…” I said He held out a small velvet box, his eyes locked on mine. “You changed my life the moment you walked into it,” he said softly. “And every day after that, I found another reason to love you.” My chest tightened emotionally. “I don’t just want you beside me for now, Ella,” he continued. “I want you beside me forever.” He opened the ring box slowly. “Will you marry me?” Tears instantly filled my eyes. “Yes,” I whispered before laughing emotionally, “yes, of course I will.” Kael slid the ring onto my finger before pulling me into his arms. And at that moment I truly believed nothing could ever destroy us. But now walking into this building remembering everything only made me remember how stupid I was the only thing I have left is regret
