Tyrell's POV The knock came again, sharper this time, and I felt Cathy’s hand tighten around mine. Her heartbeat quickened, a rapid staccato that echoed in my ears, and I could smell the faint tang of fear in the air. She was scared, and I didn’t blame her. My mother’s presence was never a good omen. “Tyrell,” Cathy whispered, her voice trembling. “Who is that?” I didn’t answer right away. My mind was racing, trying to piece together why my mother would show up here, now, when we were already on the brink of disaster. She had always been a force of nature, unpredictable and dangerous, and her timing was never accidental. She wanted something.
