The second time being Married

Chapter 4: Shock or Relief?

It was afternoon, everybody ate and were asleep. Rai opened Netflix but pictures kept running by Rai could not concentrate. Ritika a family friend had already posted on i********: about her husband’s return, but Parth was no where to be seen. Just as she was going to call, the doorbell rang. Exited Rai opened the door to find Brigadier General Sharman Joshi standing in the gate along with a few soldiers. He had the cap in his hand and the belongings of Parth.

Rai tried to keep the tray of water steady in her hands but every time she tried to pick the tray up, defeated she picked the glass of water and server it to the Brigadier General. She noticed that her daughter had woken up and picked her up from the crib and sat beside her weeping mother-in-law.

Brigadier General kept on explaining that it was not a big problem and Parth would be released by the Pakistan government soon. No country harms the prisoners as they don’t want to spoil the good diplomatic relation among them and the Indian government promises to bring back all the Indian soldiers that are held hostage in any country.

Comforting them a little more the Brigadier General left with his soldiers, leaving Rai and Swapna broken and confused.
