Dre couldn’t believe he had done that—to her. As she ran aimlessly, she collided with a hard chest. Without even looking up, she knew it was a tall man.
“Stone,” she said.
“Ms. Paige—oh my God!”
Stone looked at her face and instantly understood who had caused it. His eyes lingered on her lips until she covered them with her hand.
“Sorry.”
He apologised for staring.
“Where is my… your friend’s house?” she asked, quickly correcting herself.
“Go straight along the road for a while, then take an immediate right. After that, head up the road,” he replied, avoiding eye contact.
Dre nodded and hurried away without another word. She didn’t want to hear any comments about her lips or what had happened in the house. Though she was certain Maxie would eventually tell her mother.
