“You’ll fall if you run that fast,” Liam said, but Dre ignored him.
“Stop,” he called again, but she kept going, assuming he would say something irritating.
Then his tone changed. “A kid.”
A small child stood near the path—almost into the forest area. One thing about this place was its dense greenery, unlike Texas. The trees stretched along the entire route to the college.
“He might be lost,” Liam said, lifting the toddler into his arms.
The child grew uneasy, almost on the verge of crying. Liam realised his presence might be intimidating. He glanced at Dre, who was still looking straight ahead.
“Alright, little guy, stay calm,” Liam murmured, trying to soothe him; however scary he finds him, he has to manage with him only - the stone women will not hear his cries.
