CHAPTER EIGHT
🏘️[BRANDON'S MANSION]🏠
A young girl, Kitty, was ushered into the opulent mansion by a group of kidnappers, who swiftly departed, leaving her alone. Undaunted, she made herself at home, settling into a plush sofa.
After a brief moment, she spoke, her voice laced with sass and confidence. "I thought... I am your boss's niece? Won't you entertain me? Or were you not taught how to treat important guests?"
The four bodyguards on duty exchanged bewildered glances, unsure who she was addressing. Kitty rolled her eyes, exasperated. "I am talking to you guys!"
She singled out the eldest bodyguard. "You, go get me something cold to drink." Her tone was imperious, expecting obedience.
The bodyguard hesitated, seeking clarification. "Me?" he asked, unsure.
She rolled her eyes again. "Yes, you. Who else?" Her tone was playful, yet commanding.
Without hesitation, he hastened to the fridge, filled a cup with a refreshing orange drink, and hurried back to Kitty.
He gently placed the cup before her, and she drained it in one gulp. Then, she instructed the next bodyguard to refill the cup. He promptly complied with her request.
After finishing the second cup, Kitty ordered the third bodyguard to refill it again. Just as he was about to obey, Brandon descended the stairs, hand in hand with his fiancée.
He discreetly signaled the bodyguards to excuse themselves, and his fiancée followed suit after he whispered something into her ear.
Brandon sat facing Kitty, "What's going on here?" he asked.
Kitty met his gaze, her expression nonchalant. "What?" she asked, her voice dripping with innocence.
His eyes narrowed. "Aren't you scared? You were ordering my guards to serve you drinks repeatedly, as if you own the place."
"I'm in my uncle's mansion," Kitty said "My mom told me about you almost every day when she was alive."
He was shocked. "Your mom...?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
She nodded. "Yes."
Brandon's gaze lingered on her, as if searching for answers. Kitty rummaged through her school bag, her hands moving swiftly.
"Before I forget, she asked me to give you a letter," she said, producing an envelope from her bag.
She had secretly slipped the letter into her bag when her father wasn't watching. A triumphant smile spread across her face. "Found it!" she squealed, handing the envelope to Brandon.
He opened the letter, his eyes scanning the contents. As he read, his expression transformed from curiosity to shock, and finally, to despair. Tears welled up in his eyes, streaming down his face as he wept uncontrollably.
The sound of his sobs filled the room, echoing off the walls as he mourned the loss and regret that the letter had awakened.

Grimm burst through the gates of Brandon's mansion, Without hesitation, he took down the twelve guards stationed at the entrance.
To his surprise, there were no additional guards to contend with. The sudden silence was eerie, punctuated only by the sound of his own heavy breathing.
Kitty and Brandon rushed outside, alarmed by the gunfire. "Who shot? And who got shot?" Brandon exclaimed, his eyes scanning the scene before him.
Grimm's gaze locked onto Kitty, and he called out to her, "Kitty!" He took a step forward, ready to rush to her side, but his movement was halted by the sight of Brandon standing beside her.
Brandon's eyes narrowed, his voice full of accusation. "Your dad is a monster," he spat.
Grimm's eyes blazed with fury as he trained his gun on Brandon, his voice furious and menacing.
"Move! Move away from her!" he barked, his finger tightening on the trigger.
Brandon raised his hands in a calming gesture, slowly backing away from Kitty. "Easy, Grim," he said, his voice smooth as silk.
She rushed forward, her eyes wide with alarm.
"Dad, stop! Uncle Brandon won't hurt me or you anymore!" she yelled, her voice piercing the tense atmosphere.
Grimm's gaze never wavered from Brandon. "Don't trust him, Kitty. He's a sweet-talking liar," he growled.
Brandon chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "You said so," he quipped, his voice filled with sarcasm.
Without warning, Grimm squeezed the trigger, firing a shot at Brandon. But the latter was too quick, dodging the bullet with ease.
"Dad, stop!!" Kitty screamed, her voice hoarse from shouting, as he continued to fire his gun.
Tears streamed down Grimm's face as he fired shot after shot, his anger and grief boiling over.
"He made your mother left me! He made her die a lonely death! He made her take her last breath without me by her side!" Grim's voice cracked with emotion, his body shaking with sobs.
Brandon dodged the bullets with incredible agility, his eyes locked on Grimm with a mixture of sadness and hatred. "No, you caused it," Brandon said, his voice laced with regret.
With lightning-fast speed, He pounced on him from the side, wresting the gun from his hand and sending it flying across the room.
"Why don't we go hand to hand?" He suggested, his fists clenched as he began to punch Grimm.
"Uncle, stop! It wasn't your fault!" Kitty pleaded, her voice trembling with emotion. "Mom just wanted to keep me safe from the war between you two. You read the letter, didn't you? And now, I need you both. Will you take that away from me too?"
Her words were filled with drama, designed to manipulate the situation.
Brandon's expression softened, his eyes welling up with tears. Seizing the opportunity, Grimm landed a solid punch, sending Brandon crashing to the ground.
The two men engaged in a fierce battle, their fists flying as they rolled around on the ground. The fight raged on for several minutes, until they both collapsed, panting heavily.
"You're getting old, Don," Grimm chuckled, his chest heaving with exhaustion.
Brandon smiled wryly. "So are you. But you know I would have won if I hadn't fallen for Kitty's words."
He shrugged. "Whatever. All I know is, nobody won. Just give me my daughter, and let us head home."
"She's mine too, my niece," Brandon said, his eyes locked on Kitty.
"Who on earth kidnaps his own niece?" Grimm asked, incredulous.
"Me, Brandon," he replied, a smile playing on his lips.
Grimm burst out laughing. "You're unbelievable!"
Kitty watched the exchange, a amused smile spreading across her face. "Silly men," she said, shaking her head.
Just then, Brandon's fiancée rushed downstairs, her eyes wide with shock. "What the hell happened?" she gasped, taking in the scene before her.
