CHAPTER 5

At 25 years old, Liora has fully entered adulthood, and the dream she had 15 years ago is beginning to unfold into reality. Recently, she met Guliano and Gonzalez during a lively festival in the Adirondack kingdom. Guliano, known as the destined next Alpha of the pack, quickly became a close friend along with his trusted companion Gonzalez. Despite only knowing each other for a few days, their bond has grown strong, marking the start of an important chapter in Lioras life.

Lioras friend Amira has also grown into a full youth, now the same age as Liora. Even now, Liora makes sure she stays close to Amira, cherishing the deep bond theyve shared since their teenage years. She excitedly shared with Amira the new friendship she had formed with Guliano, and Amira was genuinely happy to hear about it.

Also present at the pack festival was Diana, Lioras antagonist. Filled with envy, Diana believed Liora didnt truly belong among them and had no right to be at the festival.

What she didnt know was that Liora now carried an important mission she was half human, half wolf. Many things about her true nature were still unclear to Liora herself, as she still thought of herself as just a normal girl like her parents.

One afternoon, while out for a stroll, Liora suddenly witnessed a werewolf cruelly mistreating a fellow pack member. Before she could even process what was happening, she transformed into her new form a wolf using mystical powers bestowed upon her by the goddess. Without hesitation, she attacked the aggressor, defending the helpless victim. Shocked, Liora exclaimed, Oh my God, what just happened to me? What did I do?

The rescued pack member gratefully thanked Liora, saying that without her intervention, she would have been killed by the savage beast.

Dont worry, you can go in peace,Liora assured her. I hope youre not hurt.

No, maam, Im fine. I truly believe the goddess sent you to be my savior today, and Im forever grateful,the pack member replied, before walking away joyfully, filled with relief and gratitude.

Liora couldnt keep the secret any longer and decided to confide in Amira. At first, Amira was stunned and found it hard to believe what Liora was telling her. She asked, Why didnt you tell me when you first noticed all this, back when we were young? Why keep such a big secret all to yourself?

I told my mom and dad, but they just brushed it off, thinking it was nothing more than a dream or stress I was going through. So, what are you going to do now? Have you told Guliano, your boyfriend?

No, I havent. I dont know how hed react. Hes the future Alpha, and he already knows Im human. What if he tells me to quit?

Dont worry, Im sure he wont react like that,Amira reassured her. Hell try to understand youre overthinking it. Just be honest and do what you need to do.

Okay, Ive heard you. Ill try to figure it out,Liora replied, feeling a bit more hopeful.

Dianas jealousy boiled over as she confronted Liora, bluntly telling her she would never marry Guliano and hurling harsh words that left Liora feeling ashamed. At that moment, Liora chose not to argue. Instead, she tried to calm Diana down, fearing that if her anger flared any more, she might transform and end up fighting her right then and there.

I wont fight you, Diana. If its about the Alpha, you can have him just leave me out of it. Ive promised myself to make peace with everyone, even with the werewolves,Liora said calmly.

Diana sneered, What did you just say? Are you a werewolf? Youre just an ordinary, poor human whose family isnt even recognized in Adirondack.

Even if my family isnt recognized, thats no excuse for you to speak to me that way. Besides, Im not your mate, so just leave me alone and let me have my peace,Liora said firmly, turning and walking away, leaving Diana standing there dejected.

The next day, Guliano and Gonzalez met and started discussing the future and Gulianos upcoming coronation. Like I told you,Gonzalez said, you need to study the Alpha doctrines thoroughly before the ceremony. The Adirondack priests will question you and put you through a series of tests to prove your bravery and see if youre truly worthy of the position.

Even if youre chosen by divinity, they wont just crown you without proof,Guliano added. You have to be tested to show your strength and leadership, since youll be leading a large pack in the Adirondack. Thats why you need to study hard, sir.

The next morning, Guliano and Liora met in the cool shade beneath a tree near the Adirondack valley, enjoying their time together. Suddenly, Liora began to hear strange voices calling her werewolf name, Aedric, meaning "the chosen redeemer of Adirondack."The voices whispered, "Its time for your task to begin."The constant noise made Liora uneasy, especially since she and Guliano were deeply close. Noticing her sudden silence, Guliano asked, Did you want us to leave now?

Not really,Liora replied. We just got here not long at al,l and we havent even spent a few hours yet. How can we leave so soon?

I thought you felt uncomfortable; thats why I said it. Maybe we can change the location and find a place where we can relax and play a little,Guliano suggested.

Dont worry, great Alpha, your Luna isnt complaining,Liora said with a smile.

If you say so, then I have no problem,Guliano replied. All I want is for you to have peace and peace of mind. Besides, theres nothing to worry about here—its a cool place with all kinds of chirping creatures.

May I ask you something?Liora inquired.

I still have a lot to learn about the wolves and our true purpose, but I know that to be a good leader, I must be brave and strong. I need to be ready to defend our pack against any outside threats, because it would be foolish to lead if I couldnt protect my fellow pack members and our territory.

He paused, considering his next words carefully, then smiled gently. At that moment, Liora surprised him with a bold question that caught him off guard:
