"Oh yeah! Where is he now? Do you want me to prepare dinner for the two of you?"
"That won't be necessary," I replied quickly. "You don't have to do that." I grabbed a glass from the table and filled it with water from the tap.
A couple of minutes later, Daxon and his brother entered the living room with the kids following close behind.
"Hey babe," he greeted me cheerfully.
I smiled and returned his greeting with a slight wave. "Hello, babe," I cooed playfully.
Daxon picked up the twins' bags and handed them to me. I thanked him silently. While I was trying my best not to drop the children, he led Sassy and Jack to their bedrooms. Sassy and Jack babbled away excitedly.
