WORK STARTS OFFICIALLY

The CEO would be coming to address us soon, and then he paused in between his words and said in an inaudible tone "Rather his personal assistant"..... You are dismissed, now get to work everyone and be of your best behavior, he smiled and left the meeting room, soon everyone started leaving to their various posts, I and my team also left the room, but I still felt someone glare behind me as I was leaving the meeting room.

We are six in my team including the team head and assistant head. The team head, Mrs Lauren who looked like she was in her late 60's gave everyone a warm smile and advised us to adhere to the rules, which earned a nod from us all.

"This is Miss Clancy and she is my second in command, if you need any help you can reach out to her, she's your senior in the company, so give her that respect, so I'll like each person to introduce theirselves",

My department's role wasn't as difficult as some other departments. We are in charge of special reservations, like meetings among upper or high class guests, so it wouldn't be too difficult, I thought

Today, a reservation was made for two unrevealed and important guests, I was excited to start work properly.

Clancy, take Aubrey and Jack to the special reserved area, you both will help her set the reserved area properly, while Barbara and Jack will come with me to the kitchen to inspect the foods, She gave out the instructions and we all nodded in agreement.

*At the reserved area*

“Jack help me set up the plates and cutleries”, he worded a yes as Clancy instructed

“Aubrey help me set up the fresh flowers on the table”, she pointed to where the newly cut rose flowers where placed, I did my assignment as instructed.

In no time we were done with the set ups, I looked at my surrounding in ewe, this is peaceful, I muttered to myself, I love the air around the reserved area, I would have been sitting here if not for my misfortune, I sighed and pushed the thought from seeping into my head, I'll just enjoy the view while I can, a smile formed on my lips.

Peaceful isn't it?...I turned around to see Clancy staring at me with a smile, this is the first time I saw her smile, the more I looked at her the more I realize how beautiful she looked, she has a round face with chubby cheeks, her eyes had a shade of light brown and her long lashes complimented her eyes,

Yes it is peaceful, I smiled back at her. Jack turned to the two ladies and also smiled

The blissful moment was cut short when the door flung opened and some group of people brought the dishes in, Mrs Lauren, Barbara and Miles came in after them. There was a satisfied look on Mrs Lauren's face.

“The guests will arrive in 20 minutes, so we should get going”, Mrs Lauren announced

Back to our spot. Mrs Lauren handed us our work uniforms,

“Note this, you all weren’t given the chance to put on your work clothes because of the sudden reservation, so from now on, whether there is a sudden reservation or not we have to act according to the rules, we have to get dressed properly and formally once we enter the premises, hope we all understand?, she took turns looking at each of us with a smile

She proceeds to give us a list of the special reservations booked for the week and assigned each one of us on the days we would be on standby, incase the guests would be needing our attention. Well, guess who is assigned for today? Me. Was I prepared for that? No, not like I can complain, I was nervous, what if I don't do well, I was feeling all tensed, I started to reconsider the thought I had earlier of my work not being difficult I tried masking the tension with a smile. Mrs Lauren noticed and smiled at me, "you can do it", the tension died a bit

Think of it like there's no one there, breathe in and out, then relax, Barbara held my hands as she encouraged me after Mrs. Clancy left us to change to our work costumes.

Wait are we changing together?, Barbara asked with her Doe eyes wide open staring at the confused Miles and Jackie who both lifted their hands in surrender, that was the moment I came back to reality, I turned to miss Clancy with giving her a “we’re not going to change in front of this men, right?”look

She chuckled, "no ways", we breathed a sigh of relieve,

The men’s changing room is to the left while the ladies changing room is to the right.

When I first saw the doors in the room, I thought it was an escape door or a back entrance, Miles scratched the back of his head while chuckling which earned a laugh from all of us.

After changing, Miss Clancy announced that the guests where here already. My heart ponded.
