~TESSA~ I pulled on Ryder’s spare hoodie, the one with the faint motor oil smell and the Hellfire symbol on the back... and stepped outside. The cold hit me first. Sharp, clean, and too real. It f*****g bit at my skin like the truth I’d been trying to outrun. Yeah... Duke leaned against his bike, arms crossed, a cigarette hanging from his lips. It was then that I noticed the weather... The morning fog was still lifting, curling low around the trees. Duke's eyes flicked to me as I stepped out, then back to Ryder, who had followed me. “I told Prospect Casey to stay behind and keep the back roads clear,” Duke said, exhaling smoke through his nose. “But I won’t lie to you, Ry. This ain’t looking good.” Ryder adjusted the gun holstered under his cut. “You said Iron Kings. You sure?”
