Chapter 7-1: Condition

Revenge...   It is a dish best served cold. When I was young, I never understood why it was called that. Then, through my experiences, I grasped its meaning. Revenge leaves one cold to the person it's directed towards. Hate, anger, and resentment overpower all other emotions. Just like a person with a normal body temperature caught in a snowstorm and frozen. Emotions freeze. After past events that never should have occurred, my father settled the score. They made Dalton Thompson unable to leave. They even lived abroad for years. The dishonorable son, David, suddenly appeared and, shockingly, he targeted Victoria and her family. Until they came for me, we had never experienced any attacks from them. I hadn't even heard their approach. My father knew for sure, but David Thompson remained silent. I would discover why he targeted her and why he returned, and I would start the war. When Ethan placed his hand on my shoulder, I turned to him. "Of course, I want to settle the score for the past. A tarnished reputation is hardly punishment enough for what those scumbags did! I want to douse them in nitric oxide and set them ablaze. They deserve a painful death," Ethan exclaimed angrily. "Then we have to start this war. Do you understand?" I asked. He nodded in agreement. I was willing to go to any length to prevent my father from finding out. This way, Victoria would also be safeguarded. "I'm with you. Even though it's not right for the girl to be involved, I support you because I know she's still just a girl." "I know, brother, that's why I have complete faith in you." Ethan was my closest confidant. We shared everything with each other. Our bond was as strong as our fathers'. We went through a unique upbringing together during our childhood. "Lucas..." I furrowed my brow, anticipating his words. "Just hold on! You're too afraid of my father! I've made it clear that Victoria will stay here, it's settled! You'll have to come to terms with it. I've told you, if you want to support me, do so, but don't oppose me!" He sighed. "Don't interrupt before I finish speaking! Always reacting impulsively! I haven't even said anything to you yet!" I tended to act impulsively, and he was prone to anger. When he was upset, he had tunnel vision. "Alright, let's not argue right now. We will discuss this later, but not now!" I suggested, to which he reluctantly agreed. I shifted my focus to Victoria. She seemed disoriented, her gaze wandering. As we approached, Rojin stood up and joined us. Pointing at Victoria, she demanded, "Who is this girl? Why is she injured? You owe me an explanation!" I was growing weary of Rojin and Esmira's persistent questioning. "If I wanted to say it, I would have said it first, Rojin. Just do your job! Don't make me regret inviting you here!" She rolled her eyes. "We understand. You're looking for mystery again. Anyway, the girl's condition is not good at all. Her wound may have become infected. She needs to go to the hospital urgently; otherwise, she won't get better." I was taken aback by this unexpected turn of events. "There is no hospital. Can't you handle it?" "Lucas, do I look like a doctor to you from where I'm standing?" "Aren't you? Aren't you studying medicine?" Ethan inquired. Rojin glanced at him but couldn't maintain eye contact for long, much like me. "Let me clarify. I haven't even graduated yet. I'm not even a medical intern. Do you understand me?" I huffed. "Then let's call a doctor to the house. Do you know anyone?" "Can't you comprehend? I mentioned infection. Do you comprehend that? Do you want the girl to die or something? She needs a hospital." I turned to Ethan. Going to the hospital would undoubtedly attract my father's attention. I had to come up with an alternative plan. "Do you know any private clinics or anything? Just not at the hospital," I suggested. Rojin pondered for a moment. "Your mysteries aren't a good omen, but I'll assist you regardless. I empathize with you." "Think, Rojin, don't ask!" Rojin resembled my Aunt Noreen in appearance. While she could be critical when needed, her heart was pure and compassionate. I knew she would support me. "My best friend's father has a private clinic. We can take the girl there." "Alright, let's proceed. You handle the arrangements. They should close the clinic. It will be just us!" As Rojin made the necessary calls, Ethan and I approached Victoria. Despite the initial purpose of bringing her here being different, she was now causing complications from the very first day. "Victoria, we are heading to the clinic." She mumbled something, likely delirious from her high fever. I realized I had not taken any precautions against the possible infection, feeling responsible for the trouble that had befallen me. "Can you walk?" When I received no response, I lifted Victoria in my arms. We left the house, with Rojin providing the clinic's address. As Rojin observed Victoria closely next to me, she eventually made eye contact with me. "Why are you staring like that?" I inquired. "I'm not sure. This girl resembles someone I know, but I can't quite place who," Rojin replied. "Does Ethan's imaginary fairy confirm that?" I sarcastically remarked. I couldn't handle the banter between Ethan and Rojin at that moment. "Don't test me, Rojin. I have a headache. I can't deal with you right now," I expressed. Upon arriving at the clinic, as expected, no one was present. Victoria was promptly taken inside while Rojin waited by our side. Her phone began to ring. "It's Esmira calling." It seemed like she sensed something was amiss. She was a witch. "Do not breathe a word about today's events. No one should know about Victoria except you two!" I instructed sternly. Rojin replied curtly, "We agreed. We understand perfectly!" She silenced the phone and then showed me the screen. "See, I've muted it." "If you let anything slip, and I catch wind of it, Rojin, there will be consequences." "Why are you so adamant about keeping this girl a secret? Who is she exactly? I bet she'd be thrilled to be known as your girlfriend. Why hide it?" Rojin probed. I furrowed my brow. "Girlfriend? Does she look like my girlfriend to you? Stay out of this and keep quiet!" I retorted, silencing her once more. Rojin fell silent when she realized I was not willing to engage. As Esmira's calls persisted, Ethan's phone also started ringing. "Kiel is calling," he announced, then excused himself to take the call. Kiel was Ethan's uncle's son, currently residing in Seattle. "Who is this girl, really?" Rojin inquired once more. I looked at her pointedly and cautioned her, "Rojin, remember what I said? Stop asking questions!" "Fine, I'll remain silent. Keep up your mysterious act, but they'll uncover the truth about the girl eventually. Then I won't lift a finger to help you." "Did I ask for your help? Just be quiet!" She crossed her legs and continued to scrutinize me. Esmira, Rojin, and my uncle Joseph's son Lexus. These three were dangerous and capable of anything. I rose from my seat as the doctor emerged. "What's the update?" I inquired. "If you had delayed a bit longer, she could have had a seizure. As predicted, her wound had become infected, but we intervened. I'm prescribing some medication. With proper use, she should recover swiftly. Should her fever return, it's imperative she goes to the hospital this time, not here. You may depart once the course of the serum is completed." "Make sure to provide the prescribed medication, doctor," I stated sternly. Rojin stepped forward, expressing her gratitude, and dismissed the doctor, lightening the atmosphere. "Okay, thank you!" I approached Victoria, who was alert and focused on me. "Are you feeling alright?" I inquired. "I'm okay." Rojin joined the conversation, introducing herself to Victoria in a friendly manner before engaging in conversation with her. "Victoria, it's nice meeting you. I'm Rojen." While they conversed, my attention was fixated on her birthmark. It was conspicuous. Gritting my teeth, I warned her to keep it concealed, but she ignored my directive. With swift steps, I approached Victoria and covered the birthmark with her hair, catching Rojin's gaze as her attention shifted towards me. "Tell Ethan to take you back home," I instructed Victoria. She rolled her eyes. "You had one more thing to do. Anyway, goodbye Victoria. I'll be back to chat. I love gossip. I gossip a lot," she said with a wink. "I'll look forward to hearing from you too." Rojin would surely take advantage of Victoria's words. Just as Victoria was about to speak, I abruptly interjected in a harsh tone, "You won't see her again, Rojin! Carry on as though you never met Victoria. Goodbye!" I gestured toward the door. Muttering to herself, Rojin grabbed her bag and departed. I turned back to Victoria. "When Rojin comes to the house, don't open the door for her." She agreed with my instructions. "Alright, I won't open it. But you're the one who invited her over. What did I do wrong? Why are you upset with me?" Did they slip courage pills into the serum? "Am I supposed to consult you on who to invite or not? Don't test my patience. I only allowed you in because you were injured!" "You're right. I'll keep quiet. After all, I willingly offered myself to you. You're free to do as you please." "Yes, you offered yourself to me! You won't see or hear from anyone else but me. You won't even leave the house!" She fell silent once more, gazing at me. I always knew that silence speaks volumes. Approaching her, I touched her birthmark with my hand. "Do you understand?" "I do." Then, I brought my lips closer and placed a brief yet impactful kiss on the mark. She visibly tensed at my touch. "After you heal..." I whispered. My words brushed against her skin as she shivered. A smirk played on my lips as her body responded to me immediately. "You're already getting excited before I even finish my sentence. You'll adapt to me quicker than I anticipated. I like that." I placed my hand on her injured arm, planting a few more kisses on her neck as I gently caressed it. Why did I have the urge to break the fingers of the other man's hand? "After I recover?" she inquired. "So, you're curious. Once you're better, we'll commence our first lesson. I'll introduce you to experiencing orgasm for the first time," I whispered. I cupped her cheeks as she gazed at me with anticipation. Continuing to caress her, I stated, "Just like the first kiss, the first orgasm is unforgettable. Have you ever pleasured yourself, Victoria?" I asked. Instead of answering, she pressed her lips against mine, indicating a negative response. "I'll give you an orgasm you'll always remember. Gradually, I'll completely possess your body. You'll be mine!" I declared before kissing her. While gazing at her with desire-filled eyes, she remarked, "Nothing will happen until you rescue my family from that man's clutches!" Her words made me raise an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" I inquired, though I understood her intentions clearly. Victoria was more astute than I had realized. "Yes, you won't have me until my family is safe and sound! I'll remain a virgin!" "So, you're setting conditions!" She nodded. "Yes, that's my condition!" I acquiesced upon hearing her terms. "Alright, we'll do it your way. But once I secure your family's safety, you will truly be mine, and I won't let you leave my domain! No one will be able to take you from me. Keep that in mind!"
