Alfonse furrowed his eyebrows in confusion because of what his wife said.
“What do you mean send her away from here?” he asked.
“It was what my mother wanted,” Oona replied.
The confusion on Alfonse’s face just deepened as he shook his head.
“I get that she said that, but what I don’t get is why,” he pressed.
Oona heaved a deep breath and answered.
“I don’t know, too, but since she brought Immerline here, she is adamant to keep her safe.”
Alfonse huffed and shook his head.
“Immerline is now our daughter, and I will not just send her away. She will ask, she will want to know why. How can you explain that to her?” he stressed, and then he got up from his chair and walked out.
Oona couldn’t do or say anything and just watched her husband walk away.
