  Kayla   I peered through the draperies covering the window, shuddering at the chilly air that feasted on my skin. It was already way past midnight. The moon had dominated the sky already. Its bright rays pierced into the darkness.   I was exhausted. I couldn't wait any longer to get my trembling legs into my chamber.
