I lurk in the shadows of an alley in a deserted street, completely devoid of any living being due to the hybrids plaguing the town like a never-ending virus. Candy is standing across from me, leaning against the wall as well, dressed in similar body armour with a silver pauldron, a breastplate, and an armoured fist latched around our hands. Once we were sure the coast was clear, we shared a nod of understanding with one another before I rushed out of my hiding place with a small dagger in hand. Placing the blade over my palm, I sliced it down my skin and hissed when the move drew blood. I thought it would take an eternity for a hybrid or two to draw themselves out, but it didn’t, because not far away the haunting presence of a lone vampire slowly turned down the street into view.
