Rolling my eyes, I turn when I hear several snarls and splashes come from across the room.
Pacing my steps, I make my way past erected pillars holding the room in place. I slowly walked towards the edge and found a series of steps descending downwards towards some kind of narrow pool of clear blue water.
The pool was more of a canal flowing downwards through a raised threshold into another room which leads to who knows where, though the room was completely cloaked with darkness there were a few lit torches that enabled one to see the path ahead of them.
This is why I was only able to see shadows of two creatures fighting vigorously down below in the canal, the sounds of their angry snarls filled the room and practically caused vibrations in the air.
