Willow wakes up in jail not remembering what had happened and how she ended up locked up. she sits up on her mat on the floor next to a toilet with a water fountain attached to it. She wipes her eyes trying to concentrate wondering what had happened and where was Rickey. Was he okay? Was he hurt? Was he dead? Willow couldn't remember much at all other than fighting at a local shell mart and being taxed four times. Willow was flabbergasted after hearing all that everyone had told her what she had done. She was in disbelief. There's no way that she was capable of such horrific things. She immediately jumped up from her thin mat on the concrete floor and started pounding on the door yelling I need my first call I know I haven't had my first call yet. A guard opened the door and said Willow after last night I'm surprised if you don't go down for murder. Willow was in shock she didn't believe him she asked what did I do? The guard replied saying I'd wipe that smirk off your face if I were you, You almost killed a girl. Police said when they got there you were jumping up and down on her head. She's in critical care fighting for her life. Flashbacks were piling on, Willow turned and got sick and threw up in the toilet while sobbing. After she collects herself the guard asks Do you want that phone call now? With shame in her heart and with burning cheeks with embarrassment from knowing everyone in the jailhouse from the workers to the inmates. Living in a small town has its advantages and disadvantages. Everyone knew everyone and everybody talked. Willow reaches the end of the hall and she reaches for the phone on a desk. With a heavy heart and dread, she knew she only had one call to make and that was her mother. Willow didn't come from a wealthy family so she didn't have many people that had much money or property to put up for a bond. With each number she'd press the heavier her heart would pound. Finally, the phone rang, and automatically the tears started building up in her eyes, and a lump formed in her throat As her stepdad answered the phone he said hello. Willow was crying hysterically and told him she was in jail. He laughed at her and said now bird which was Willows's nickname that he had given her when he first met her. Willow still crying saying no poppied which was what Willow called him. He was like a dad to Willow he treated her like she was one of his daughters. He laughs and says Well happy Thanksgiving in jail bird I hope you get a good Thanksgiving dinner. Then proceeds to hang the phone up. Willows's heart pounding fast that was her one phone call. What was she going to do now? She peeked around the corner to see if anyone was around. No one was in sight so Willow hurried and dialed the number back and Poppied answered the phone again. Willow belled out Poppie please do hang up the phone and look at the caller's I.D. I'm really in jail. Poppie then said hell bird you are in jail, Give us a few we are still cooking dinner and we have a houseful Let your mommy and I get ready and we will be there shortly. Willow took a deep breath in with relief, she would soon be out.
