INTRO

"Avery Carter, get back in here this instant!"

Ethan's demanding voice left no room for argument. My hand froze on the door knob, about to slam it shut and storm out of the building. Desire still swirled within me, but it was hard to see past the anger over taking it.

Ethan grabbed my arm, pulling me back into the room and shutting the door louder than unnecessary. He kept his firm grip on my arm as I squirmed, trying to get away. But he was too strong.

"What?" I snarled, finally able to yank my arm from his grip.

"You are my assistant and you will do what I say. Your disobedience will cease this intant! If I tell you not to see someone, you will not see them. Is that understood?"

I took a couple of deep breaths, trying not to blow up. A screaming match between a CEO and a secretary wouldn't do in an populated office building. It would cause many questions, ones I wasn't ready to answer . Ethan was close enough that I could feel his warm breath on my neck, sending shivers up and down my spine.

"Yes sir," I sneered, making it clear that I had every intention of continuing this conversation at a later time.
