Chapter 2 - Long lost freedom

Kade's POV

Me and the boys from my pack were heading into town to a restaurant my mother booked for us. As we walk in I see a girl about my age singing a song before putting other songs on before going on to wipe down some tables. She has long snow white hair and nice curvy figure with the voice of an angel. Upon seeing us she lets out a clear sigh before grabbing us menus and walking over placing the menus in the center before saying "Good evening I'm your waitress for tonight can I get you anything to drink?" I could tell that our silence was making her uncomfortable because she repeated herself before saying "I'll give you some time to think about it" she turns and goes to walk away but I grab her hand and spin her to face the table before I say "we're ready to order" I say what we want and then she walks over to the bar and hands the bartender our order and I notice how the bartender gave her a sympathetic look which she brushes off with a flick of her hand causing me to growl my beta places a hand on my shoulder and I ease my shoulders as she walks back with our drinks and takes our orders for food she goes into the kitchen to give them the order a few minutes later she walks back out to collect the empty glasses "aren't you the singer from before?" I ask and she nods her head "good perform for us" she looks up and says "I'm sorry but we different entertainers for the evening" I nod before saying "bring us your best ones then" she nods and calls out three girls who immediately start to flirt with some of my boys, I roll my eyes and send the waitress away who complied and walked over to the chefs I assume and handing them our order. A few of the girls from our pack join us at the table and most of my boys had now found their mates and marked them, one of the girls were trying to get my attention but I wasn't interested in her, a few minutes later the waitress returns with our food orders she places the food on my table before turning to leave I grab her wrist and hold it, I felt tingles against my skin and she turns to face me and asks "something I can get you sir?" I let out a growl and release her wrist and turn back to my food, I feel her soft hand trail up my arm before she walks over to her friend and they start to converse I notice how the girl she was talking to seemed overly happy while the performer just rolled her eyes at the girl the conversation was brief as the other waitress walks to clean some tables before my mate walks back to us and gathers our plates and empty bottles and walking back to the kitchen and then returning as she nears I smell her scent, she smelled like chocolate and roses with out thinking I growl out "mate!" causing everyone to look at her I growl again and they turn away, I hold her hand and she has her back to me, I notice her back muscles tense before she turns to face me she lets out a breath before saying "hi" I smile before saying "hi" she had a look of uncertainty in her icy blue eyes I try to pull her closer to me but she shook her head, I tilt my head and stand up and take a step closer to her still holding her hand I lower my voice and say "what's your name baby?" I speak in a deep tone and notice her shiver from my tone she looks me in the eyes and says in silky smooth voice "I'm Scarlett what about you?" I smirk at her before taking another step and whispering in her ear "the name's Kade" she nods her head "what's on your mind baby?" she looks at me with shock? in her eyes "I can't.." she takes a breath "I can't do this" I tilt my head and take another step to her "why can't you? I don't see anything stopping you" she meets my eyes before her eyes flash purple and I feel the power vibrating off her I feel my wolf strengthen from the proximity of us she chuckles and closes the gap between us resting her hand on my shoulder "you didn't expect that right?" my jaw drops and a smirk graces her lips "you are very rare my love" I say after regaining my composure, her features drop in shock "you don't fear my abilities?" I shake my head "I'm not scared of my mate I never will be" I slide my hand on her shoulder and she shudders. I look into her eyes and they're still purple "do you want to try this?" she asks I nod and take her hand leading her to the table which she complies to. I introduce her to my pack members at the table before saying "this is our Luna I expect you all to show her respect" I watch the boys bow their heads in respect to her, I feel her shift uncomfortably and loosen my grip on her hand and she slips away to grab our bill as she walks away I notice the females glaring daggers at her I let out a deep growl and they look down without hesitation she returns a few seconds later with our bill which I pay while the others head home to the pack grounds my mate places the card machine behind the bar before going into the room marked 'staff only' before returning wearing a black skirt that came mid thigh with a red crop that zipped up the middle paired with red high heels and a black leather jacket she also had a red and black handbag she walked over to me "I'm heading home now so I'll see you around" I growl "you're not going anywhere without me so I'm going to ask you to come to my pack with me" she looks me in the eye and shakes her head "why not?" I growl she rolls her eyes "you don't know me or know of my responsibilities" she states "well tell me then" she looks at me uncertainty laced in her eyes "my pack need me I can't leave them we're not like a normal pack all of us are different they need my protection" she explains admiration filled my eyes "move them in with mine then we can both protect them" she sighed "they don't trust easily neither do I"
