FREEDOM

Suddenly I saw the boy in my leaf; my leaf boy I smiled and quickly ran to him. I grabbed him immediately and he pushed me away.

"How dare you touch me with your filthy hands" he said and I looked down on my hands and frowned "but my hands are not filty" I said to him and he ignored me and walked off.

I chased and try to touch him but he moved back and I frowned" why is he running away from me" I asked myself and brought out the leaf from my hair and showed it to him, he quickly snatched it from me and looked at me wierdly.

" go away from here you s**t" he said and I frowned. "My name is not s**t ; my name is Melissa" I said to him and he scoffed.

"I don't care what your name is, get away from me" he said and looked down on me. He scrunched his nose and pointed at my body "why are you n***d walking around the beach where many people are?

"Is that how far you can go in order to get me to sleep with you? I am not interested in your body so take your filty self out of here" he said and the humans around there laughed and he walked away going to a box and left in the box.

I was still standing there when I suddenly heard my name and someone shaking me.

I woke up and sighed, "so it was all a dream and I'm still stucked in this place" I muttered to my self and looked up to see a guard looking down on me and I immediately sat and wiped my face.

The princess is back and requests your presence he said and Swam away. Ahhhhh!!!! I groaned and look down on my tail, I touched it and sighed bringing out the leaf boy from my hair and stare at him.

He is actually a man in my dream and not a boy. Though they look similar but the one in my dream is more handsome and so tall. I smiled and tucked it back before swimming off to answer the princess.

Days turned into weeks and my 18th birthday came. I am so happy that finally I get to be freed from serving my mother's punishment. I sat in my usual resting rock singing out and dancing and twirling my tail happily.

"Human world here I come" I screamed inside me and swam back to the palace. Soon the King sent for me and I went into the throne room.

"Long live king Lucas" I bowed to him and he know that nodded then I glanced beside him to see the queen.

" long live queen Adalind" I bowed and she rolled her eyes. The princess was sitting beside her mother and I greeted her also.

"Melissa today marks your 18th year of serving your mother's punishment after she died weakly without completing her punishment" he said and I sighed inside "I know they killed her know that to make me suffer but it's all over now I'm going to free year and go to the human world.

"So because you have completed the punishment you are hereby set free; you can go on and live among your fellow mermaid".

"You now have the ability to explore the Kingdom except from the shores and if you are caught going to the shores, you will be persecuted" he said and I nodded and bowed. "say that to the winds" I thought and and thanked him.

" You can go now" he said and I smiled swimming out happily.Knowing that's he will send the guards to monitor were I am going, I went to my resting place and stayed there for a while until it was time for the Palace sleep then I swam out and and headed to the shores as fast as I can.

I am a very fast mermaid, that is also one of my abilities apart from singing.

I got to a narrow end and saw a Palace guard swimming pass and I hid behind a rock. He passed and I waited a little before continuing my Journey. I got to the surface and smiled happy.

"Woooahhh!!!! I exclaimed happily and swam closer to the human world. I placed my tail on the sand and it turned to legs instantly. I felt a tingling sensation just like in my dreams but I ignored it because I was too happy to focus on it.

I saw a big objects at a distance and slowly walk towards it. I got closer to it and it was so beautiful, I touched it smiling happily "humans have beautiful things" I said touching the human flowers they are not like our sea flower and they are so beautiful.

I entered the object and I think it is a house because it has a rock like object covering it. I pushed it and it opened. "Hahahaha" I smiled and walked in.

"ATLANTICA!!!! I screamed looking around the beautiful house; "humans sure lives beautifully" I said and suddenly I heard a yell and I froze.

"Who the hell are you and what the hell are you doing in my living room n***d" the person screamed am I looked up to see my leaf boy staring at me with wide eyes.

I gasped and ran to him hugging him so tightly but he pushed me away. My leaf boy I called him and he frowned."what the hell are you saying" he said and frowned more.

Yes you are my leaf boy I said and hugged him again and he dragged me out of his body.

" Try that again and I will call the police on you; go back and tell the person who sent you that you didn't see me sl*t" he said and I frowned.

I remember he called me sl*t in my dreams and now he is calling me that again. "Maybe I look like the sl*t he knows" I thought and smiled at him.

"My name is actually Melissa and not the sl*t you keep calling me, perhaps I just happened to look like her but I am not her" I told him and he looked at me wierdly.

"Are you insane? He asked me and I frowned again getting angry. "I just told you that my name is Melissa and you are still asking if I am insane, I don't know those people" I said frowning more and he shook his head and continued looking at me weirdly.

"Who sent you to come here and seduce me" he asked and I gazed up at him. I brought out this strange leaf and showed it him, he snatched it and stared at me strangely. "what are you doing with my picture I and where did you get it from" he said and I smiled. "I saw it in my home in Atlantica. I told him and he nodded dropping the picture as he called it on an object beside him.

Ok, "Thanks for bringing it back; you cannot go" he said push me out and closed his human rock.

I have nowhere else to go and I can't go back to Atlantica. It's so dark here unlike in Atlantica where the only dark place is the skull room.
