She looked so helpless and fragile, We found the girl in the forest while out on a training excercise, she was out cold and looked pretty banged up. My sister and the pack doctor are with her now, she hasn't woke up since we found her.
Who is she? Why was she there all alone? Where were her people? Questions, nothing but questions kept swirling through my mind.
Fom the moment I first saw her I knew she was the one, my fated mate, the other half of my soul and now my wolf Zeke was a growling angry beast wanting to kill whoever put her in danger.
My Beta Josiah appears beside me. "we found the wreckage of a boat, no survivors." I growl and run my hands through my hair in frustration. My wolf can barely contain his anger. "Keep looking, there must be something that can help explain this."
Josiah sighs and pats me on the back "Kane we will keep looking but you need and Zeke need to calm down, if she wakes up and you are both like this she will be terrified and I know the last thing you would want to do is scare her." I nod, I know he is right. Josiah is not only my Beta but my best friend and my brother-in-law. The old Beta of the pack found Josiah when he was four years old, his entire pack had been wiped out by vampires. He was the sole survivor, my fathers Beta and his wife adopted him and when he turned 18 we found out he was mated to my sister Sami, he is the most trusted member of my pack.
The doctor and Nila my sister walk out "how is she?" I ask the doctor, my sister looks sad "She has a bad sprain to the ankle which will need plenty of rest. She has mild hypothermia from being so long in the cold. She took a nasty tumble by the looks of it which caused her to be unconscious when you found her, she is covered in cuts and bruises , most likely from running in the dark through a forest.
I can't say for certain when she will wake, her body has gone into a rest mode, she was most likely exhausted. We will keep her on an IV for fluids and pain meds, I take it you will be wanting to move her to the main packhouse?"
"Yes she will be moved to the Alpha quarters, it is more comfortable there." I answered hoping the doctor who helped bring me into the world wouldn't see through my lies.
"Of course Alpha Kane, we will make sure the Luna is comfortable" He smirked as he walked away, I turn to see my sister quietly giggling "you can't hide anything from Doc Hodgins. You of all people should know that."
I ignore her and walk into the hospital room where my mate is. Her foot is bandaged and propped up on a pillow, her face has scratches and bruising near her temple, there is a heated hospital blanket over her pumping warm air to raise her body temperature and two IV bags set up.
"Mate is beautiful" Zeke whispers in my mind and I nod agreeing with my wolf. She looks peaceful with her hair that is almost silver spread out across the pillow, long dark lashes on her closed eyelids, full plump red lips that I would give anything to have a taste of. A proud upturned nose and the amazing smell of coconuts that surrounds her "You are safe now my love, I will protect you." I say as I brush a bit of hair back off her face. In her sleep she turns her head leaning into my hand. I smile and take one last longing look at my mate and quietly leave the room to help my men search for clues in the forest.
I hear a voice, a man's voice. I feel calm he said I was safe and that he would protect me. I believe him. I want to open my eyes, I want to see his face.
I am fighting to wake up, but the blackness is coming for me again, it is taking me and once again...nothing.
It's been three days since the girl was found and she still hasn't woke u, she is covered in cuts and bruises but looks strong. My brother is going crazy with worry, he spends all of his hours searching the forest and cliffs trying to find some clue as to why she was there. Mainly it is to keep his mind busy and to stop his wolf destroying everything, Zeke will not be calm until he knows his mate is out of danger and safe.
