Chapter Four.

There is blood everywhere, my feet slip on it as I scramble to get away. The screams are deafening "Daddy!" I am screaming his name over and over as I look down into his lifeless eyes. The blood from his body seeps across the floor towards me. "Daddy please don't leave me, I am scared."
"It's OK my love, I am here, and you are safe." I hear the same voice from before, the voice that makes me feel calm and safe. I drag myself from the nightmare and slowly open my eyes. I find myself wrapped in two strong arms and I am looking into beautiful blue eyes that I could lose myself in forever. I am lost in the depth of those blue eyes and the love I see in them. I feel calm and safe, I feel like I am home.
I move back a little bit to get a better look at him and the man clears his throat and moves away from me to a chair that is next to the bed. I suddenly feel lost without the safety of his arms and feel alone, so very alone.
"I am sorry I shouldn't have touched you while you were sleeping, but you were crying in your sleep and I wanted to comfort you. I am Kane, Nila's brother."
I look at him properly. He is tall, with hair as black as night, his muscles are rippling through the tight black shirt he is wearing. He is perfect, I lick my lips, he is what I would imagine a God to look like.
I feel my face go red as I realize I am staring with my mouth hung open, practically drooling. I wipe my mouth with the back of my hand just in case I am drooling and reply "I am Emille."
***Kane Flashback***
I was walking down the hallway to the guest room. I have been sleeping there since my mate is sleeping in my room. Slowing down as my room came into view, I could hear her crying.
Zeke pushed forward and rushed in to check on her and found her thrashing about and crying in her sleep. She kept screaming "Daddy" over and over. Carefully we took her into our arms, talking to her and telling her she was safe. She relaxed into our arms, looking down at her. We wanted nothing more than to hold her forever and keep her safe.
***End Flashback***
She is staring at me with her big brown eyes as I gently lay her back down and move to sit on the chair next to the bed. She is absolutely breathtaking.
I see her check me out and then lick her lips before shyly telling me her name is Emille. She looks so tiny and innocent in my big bed, like a delicate rose. My wolf howls with joy that this is our mate and my co*k twitches at the thought of sharing the bed with her.
Trying to remove any thoughts of her in my bed, I clear my throat. "My men and I found you in the forest. Can you tell me what happened and how you came to be there?"
His voice is beautiful, deep and sexy. He oozes authority and power. There goes my wandering eyes staring at his lips and wondering what they would feel like against my body. Concentrate Emille and answer his question, you look like an id*ot.
"It was my birthday celebration, my parents and brother Tobias had organized a small party for me on my dad's boat. There were around thirty people there". I let out a sob, remembering they were all dead, and I am somehow alive. They were there to celebrate my birthday and now they were all dead!
Tears are streaming down my face, I can hear the screams, smell the blood, I can't breathe. I start breathing faster, trying to catch my breath, my ears start ringing, and my vision is blurring. Am I having a heart attack?
Kane gets on the bed and pulls me into his arms. "It's OK Emille, focus on my voice. You are safe now. I will never let anyone hurt you. I can feel his arms rubbing up and down my sides, he moves a hand to run his fingers through my hair, still talking quietly to me. I concentrated on his voice, the feeling of his hands on me and bit by bit, I slowly come back to reality out of my panicked state
I continue to tell Kane what happened, he doesn't move or let go of me. "Everyone was laughing and chatting, there was music playing. I went below deck to have a few minutes' peace from it all. I suddenly heard screaming and could hear people running. Some were trying to get to the steps to get down to where I was, but they were being dragged back. I climb the steps to get to where I last saw my brother and parents." I start breathing fast again and crying. The memories are horrible. I place my hands over my ears to block out the screams.
"Ssshh relax Emille, I am here." Kane pulls me up on to his lap and cuddles me into his chest. I continued on knowing the worst parts were still to be told.
"I climbed up the steps, there is blood everywhere, people were screaming and crying. I saw my father's body on the floor. I crawled towards it, the blood from his wounds was creeping towards me. I heard my mother scream for me to run but it was like I was frozen in time and couldn't move. I couldn't leave my family, but I couldn't help either."
I took a few deep breaths before I carried on "Tobias dragged me to the side of the boat and then threw me into the water. The last thing I saw before that was a man...no not a man, a monster biting into my mother over and over like she was a piece of meat. I saw her fall down to the floor dead." I finished telling him and then cried until I could cry no more, when I finally calmed down I realized I was clinging onto Kane's shirt like he was my life raft, the only thing that could save me in this scary world.
I felt Kane stiffen as he growled one word "Vampires!"
