Chapter Five May 2018 I had no sense of time in the room. I’d awakened some time ago, alone now, still in the dark, and completely alert. I tried the light switch, but the bulb must have been removed. I banged noisily on the door, long enough to draw my captors’ attention, should he choose to attend to me, but apparently he was not in the mood. There was light under the door which could guide me well enough to start combing the room and small closet for, well, anything I could use. I felt a bit unique in my situation, as I was still alive, though my captor was making more a mystery out of this than I could prepare for.
